I llive in a one-story house, have a good-sized backyard, I am the youngest,(12), and I can spend grooming it every week and give it a freerun too. NO CHIHUAHUAS OR FLUFFY DOGS please. Any suggestions?

The best thing to do is decide the size you are most comfortable with. Then think about what you would like to do your dog.
You can not expect a short hair dog to live outside all year, or a long hair dog to be comfortable in LA. IF you get a bulldog, do not expect them to fetch. If you get a lab expect it to fetch 24/7.
Etc.
You just need to research and really know what you want. A good place to start is the shelter they get a lot of puppies. A young adult is okay too. They are usually house broken.Enjoy your new puppy when you decide.

"miniature beagle "
There is no such thing, Beagles come in two sizes 13 inch and 15 inch (16 inch if you live in England) Both 13" and 15" can come from the same litter.
There are valid reasons why the Labrador Retriever has remained the worlds most popular dog for so long. Just look for a good breeder

The best thing you could do is go to a local shelter and see what kinds of dogs they have. Its fairly inexpensive and they offer a lot of services if you choose to adopt one of their dogs. Pitbulls are very good dogs in reality, despite the terrible media attention. They require little to no grooming, walks, and training that you can get through the shelters usually. On top of that they are overbred and many need good homes. But there are a lot of breeds out there! I advocate for pitbulls because they have such a bad rap. Ive literally been around hundreds of them, and have never been bit. Not even once! Good luck!

I absolutely back the other people who say you should go to a shelter or rescue to get a dog. There are thousands of cute puppies/dogs on Doggie Death Row just waiting to fall in love with you, especially b/c you won't be able to get a dog from a responsible breeder in your price range you would just be encouraging back yard breeding and higher stray rates.

In my opinion...A Pembroke Welsh Corgi. They are so smart and obedient. Easily trained and love people and are great w/other animals. They are a smaller dog that is husky but are a very patient dog. They are one of the most loyal of companions. I have 4 of them and I'm not a small dog person but these Corgis are the best.

Get a Pit Bull. They aren't scary if you get a puppy and train him. They are some of the greatest dogs I have ever met. They are smart, cuddly, loving and loyal. They are great learners and will be your best friend. You just need to give them the time and love and attention they deserve!

i'm voting for a jack russell terrier. the wire-haired variety if you can find one. They are just the coolest little dogs...and they're super smart. if you ever watched Frazier, the little dog on there was a jack russell. It would be hard to find one for 200, though, probably closer to 300 or so. you might get lucky, though. check the newspaper!

Try going to a shelter. Most of those dogs are in good health and they don't charge you alot of money. I adopted an English Setter for my mother. I was surprised that my dog that I adopted loved my mother for she was the main person that was around her alot.
