Go to dinner, and then for a walk somewhere nice. Or you could ask her what she would like to do.

Do something fun!! Don't do the whole dinner-and-a-movie thing because the whole time will be awkward because you two will be so nervous that you won't know what to say (unless you're like, best friends or something already). And you can't even talk when you go to a movie theater. I'd go to either an amusement park or a basketball/football game. Amusement parks are AWESOME (or, I think so anyway!), and think about it: long lines, lots of time to talk and get to know each other better. Anything that will keep you two relaxed and avoiding the awkward silences is what you should go for.

One of the best first dates I ever had was this guy picking me up in his Jeep. It was around 11:00am and I had no idea what the plan was. He made a container of Bloody Marys and pored it over ice in a big plastic cups with a straws and celery. It was a beautiful sunny day. He took me to the Houston Zoo and then Museum. There was plenty to talk about and not a dull moment. We had a nice lunch to end it off. We dated for quite awhile after that.

bring her out to dinner and a movie on the first date, on the third date bring her some simple flowers, then on the 8 th or 9 th date do something romantic like a candlelight dinner and roses

Instead of going out at night why not go out in the afternoon? Suggest a picnic in the park both of you bring something to eat. Pick a place with some shade. Dress comfortably not slutty, and find out about each other. It's romantic, fun and he will see you as being down to earth.

First, ask her if she has any ideas. If not, go for someplace quiet because you want to be able to talk.

A romantic restaurant - NOT Applebee's or Chili's or a karaoke bar.
A park for a picnic.
A rooftop picnic - if you live in the city and have access to someone's roof.
A ride on a motorcylce or convertible car.
Walk on the beach (holding hands).
Outdoor movie.
Jazz Concert.
Museum and dinner.

Keep it simple. Just do dinner and a movie. It is the first date so don't try to be romantic. It is to soon.

the motto here is KISS keep it simple stupid.....
anyway start with dinner somewhere quite, and then go from there, let her make suggestions as to where to go or what to do....

depending on where you livve if there is a beach near by and its nice out go for a walk.... i know it sounds corny but hey you did say romantic....
just relax and you will do fine....don't forget to ask her what she would like to do though that is very important... she my be wearing something that she is not comfortable in to something you have picked out.... so keep her in mind...

Don't go to a movie, and dinner isn't always that great either. Something like miniature golfing, or darts at the pub, or pool at the pub, or go to a golf range. Something like that where you can occupy yourselves, but still be able to chat. Relaxing, low stress, fun, etc.
