I am trying to convert avi files so I can burn them to dvd but I keep coming across the same problem
when I start it al goes well until the audio files are finished then I get this error Message:
Avisynth open failure
Avisource : couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc xvid

What am I missing and where can I get it?
or am I doing something wrong

You are not missing anything or you are not Wrong but the files you try to burn are protected so it cannot be copied.

I do it all the time,, just use DVD SANTA easy software to use. burns great movies. dont trouble yourself about failures and decompresion just use this .worry no more :)

probably you don't have a AVI codec...try downloading codec packs or a new converter
