Toy dogs bred even smaller have a ridiculously high rate of health problems, particularly with immune function, but also with countless other problems..

'teacup' varieties are very often sickly, and very difficult to treat...

I recently heard stories of teacup Italian Greyhounds, it makes me sick... a 2lb iggy should never be created... nor should a 2lb anything...

There isn't such a thing as a toy Schnauzer, there are minatures and giants. (Maybe standards, don't know all about Schnauzers.) If you or someone you know are trying to make the dogs smaller you are irresponsible by breeding runts. Responsible breeders would not go as far as going to a website like this to advertise. Please people educate yourselves before you buy a dog.

Are you talking about miniature schnauzers? Or smaller?

Breeding a dog to purposely be smaller than breed standard is not only dangerous, but is the sign of a bad breeder. Most of these puppies will have serious medical problems down the road.

A miniature schnauzer is:
Height is 12 to 15 inches (30.5 to 38 cm) at the withers, and they generally weigh 10 to 15 pounds (4.5 to 7 kg).

They do not need to be any smaller.

They have been messed with to be runts.. Schnauzers are not a "toy" breed and should not be made one. As soon as you start messing with things like that, problems arise!!!!!!!
Good breeders would not have done this, so the genetic material to creat this abomination would have come from crappy examples of schnauzers anyway!!!!!!

I have a Toy Miniature Schnauzer that has owned me for eight years. She was the runt of the litter and only weighs eight pounds. She has never had any serious health problems, and has brought many years of joy to me and my family.

There is no such thing: there are Miniature, Standard, or Giant Schnauzers. Go to www.akc.org for reference.

I have a lady at my work in El Paso Tx that wants a Toy Schnauzer, write me to tell me details, as in what city you're in (state too) and how much you want for the schnauzer. Her name is Leigh Ann Torres. mzzg6@elp.rr.com
