I am not an atheist, but I am an evolutionist, I do not believe there is a "superior being". I became convinced while studying anthropology. All you have to do is pick up a book and study it, there you will find the irrefutable evidence that we have evolved from apes. Also I am very familiar with the bible, but all of the stories told can easily be explained by natural disasters or other normal occurances.

Wrong about what? We'll be the first to admit we're wrong if evidence presents itself. Unfortunately, the religious folks won't do the same.
You may not realize this, but there is no evidence whatsoever supporting the existence of a god. There is plenty of evidence debunking this existence (by the definition of the holy books that you're most likely believing).
We seek the truth, not easy answers. Those that take the easy answers, and call them the ultimate truth... now that's smug...

And how can religious people be so sure of their beliefs they won't suffer to think they can be wrong as well? But I'm not an atheist, I'm an agnostic. We can't be sure of the existence of God, or the inexistence; there are no solid proofs one way or the other, so I'll keep an open mind. That doesn't mean I will ever think religious people are right. I disagree with them on many of their principles. Religion is mainly a product of men's ideals, as is atheism. I preffer developing my own beliefs.

When you can make a logical argument to explain why a god exists. Then I will listen. Until then all I have heard are threats, insults and raving.
Its funny no christian seems to be able to explain the origin of this god. They claim it "Just Is". Yet they claim reality is too complex to "Just Exist" so they need to dream up an infinitely more complex being to create it.
Basically I am supposed to believe a book containing a talking donkey, a talking snake, 900 year old men, virgin births, and zombies crawling out of the ground.
Instead of evidence I am presented with threats and insults. Sure its possible I could be wrong. Its also possible genies could exist. But atheists tend to be rational, so we need rational reasons. Not fear, and fairytales.

For the same reason religious types can be so sure and smug and not think they can be wrong. Neither side has anything other than circumstantial evidence to prove one way or another, but people develop opinions based on circumstantial evidence and they're gonna run with them. Just like you're doing. :D Have a nice day.

How can theists be so sure and smug to not think they can be wrong?
And for your information I am not.
I simply don't believe because there has not been substantial enough evidence to convince me.
If tomorrow science proves a god exists, I will become a theist.
I have no attachment to atheism.
If tomorrow science proved god does not exist will you become an atheist?

Cause they are so many religions (these one which includes god in them) and I still can find something wrong in every holly book, no matter if it's the Bible or whatever. I also don't have any proofs and I also don't like some of the things religion teach us. And why are you so sure that you are not wrong?

Thats very easy to answer. Go look in the mirror and ask yourself the same question: How can you, a beleiver, be so sure and so smug to not think you might be wrong???
There are HUNDREDS of other Gods in existence, yet you deny them all. When you understand WHY you deny those Gods, you'll understand why I deny yours.

Same way believers can be so sure and smug to not think they can be wrong. Except for the bit about pointing to a book as proof.
