They are obviously incapable of coming up with a more intelligent response, much less a more intelligent insult.

It doesn't bother me much when people do it to me but when I see it happen to other people it really bugs me. I have had a couple of small disagreements with people who want to start petty arguments but on the whole I tend to ignore them because they are just after a reaction, negative or otherwise. The last time I asked a question, someone told me to burn or beat my daughter & I did pass comment about it, even though I knew that was what the idiot wanted so I know myself it's hard to ignore but we have to try or they will do it all the more.
By the way, I hope things turned out ok with your friends.

I think they should be reported for insulting any question. The purpose of this place is to answer people's question's not to insult people's question's. People feel the need to do this cause they do not know the rules and they have a low self esteem.

It is not OK to insult someone asking a question. If you do not like the question just ignore it. I do not think it is right either to tell a questioner that their spelling or grammer is bad even though there is the spell check which I always use beause thoughts run ahead of your fingers sometimes and you need to check. Why do people do it? Just nasty I suppose.I should not let it bother you

No, I don't think it's okay for insults on here. People are having fun talking about things, and when you get nasty people on here, it takes something away from it. It's just like on the Yahoo Message Boards. People just tear each other to shreds because they don't agree. It's terrible. I wish there was a place to go to have "discussions". Yahoo Answers seems to be the closest thing to it. I hope the nasty people stay away.

I think its really wrong to insult others, the idea of the site is to ask things that other people might know about. I think someone who insults people should be reported for abuse and removed from the site.

No, of course I don't think it's okay to insult a person for asking a question. My reaction would vary from ignoring the poster, just giving him/her hands down, answering his/her insult WITHOUT another insult, or reporting his/her post.

maybe they were bullied at school, now they are hermits with nothing better to do but to sit at their computers all hours of the day in their underpants, giving back what they should of at school when their heads were flushed down the toilets !! Its such a shame!
Saying that, I hope there are no Carries online! Dont want my computer being set alight! LOL!

Most questions need fair and direct answers from people who can help, other questions are given "tongue in cheek" these are the ones that require frivolous answers, people who answer serious questions with insults are empty headed morons, just ignore them flower.

Not all answers are directly proportionate to every question. But first, the Anatomy of a question must be examined.
What is a "question?" This is weird because one is forced to use the very entity being examined to examine the question of what a question is. This is an indication that there is something lacking in man's logic or his communication systems or both or something else.
The answer is within the answer...never the question. For if we answer before we are even asked, the answer is already there; isn't it? The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind, the answer is blowin' in the wind.
Hope you got your answer because I am not answering any more questions in this context nor am I questioning you further.

You are in public space and people come in all kinds with various levels of maturity. I would plainly ignore comments that are inappropriate and not stress myself. Look at the promising side of things, you already have so many people who answered so well on this question.
