Before you get a dog you had better get allergy tested first.
It would be better to know that you could not tolerate a dog in the house before you get one and find out after you have had it for a month or two and have to give it up.

You may be allergic to pet dander, or it could just be the season. You should try being around other dogs to see how you react, it could just be a result of being in a pet store with so many different animals.
In case you are allergic, that doesn't mean you can't have a dog, you just have to opt for one that's "hypoallergenic", although there aren't any dogs that are 100% allergy free, these lower your chances of sneezing etc. a lot. Yorke's are listed as hypoallergenic on some sites, which is why I think it may have been the store. But here are some sites that offer lists of hypoallergenic dogs. The last is a web site that gives some info on Labradors, which are a cross breed of a lab and a poodle.

From the sounds of it you are, but depending on the time of the terriers last bath you may just be allergic to the dander. In any case though, just make sure you wash and brush the dog thoroughly every 2 weeks or so. If you are allergic dogs in general, (like me) it would be smart to buy some OTC Claritin non-drowsy or get a perscription for allergy medication.

Look into getting a dog with low dander. I have horrific allergies. Therefore, I have miniature Schnauzers. Another type of dog that is good for people with allergies are poodles. You will notice that a lot of cross breed "designer" dogs are crossed with poodles. Labberdoodles, yorkipoo's, malipoos and my favorite.....schitzpoos. (I just like saying that word)

Try holding another yorkie! If you have the same symptoms, I am afraid to say that you probably have allergies.
If you are allergic and do get a dog, please keep it off you bed. This way you can at least sleep easily at night.

I would check with a doctor - there might have just been something on that specific dog.

Go to a doctor and take an allergy test, that will prove everything.

You may be, but PLEASE don't buy a puppy from a pet store, they are from puppy mills, please educate yourself before buying a puppy.
