The bible is like an Aesops fables of life lessons. It (I believe) was not meant to be taken literally. It was interesting stories told around the market place to entertain and teach at the same time. People back then were not very educated and things like evolution wouldn't be understood by the common man. The creation story was a dumbed down version of what really happened.

Actually another historian has already proven the existence of Jesus and his crucifiction.
"At this time there appeared Jesus, a wise man, if indeed one should call him a man. For he was a doer of startling deeds, a teacher of the people who receive the truth with pleasure. And he gained a following both among many Jews and among many of Greek origin. He was the Messiah. And when Pilate, because of an accusation made by the leading men among us, condemned him to the cross, those who had loved him previously did not cease to do so. For he appeared to them on the third day, living again, just as the divine prophets had spoken of these and countless other wondrous things about him. And up until this very day the tribe of Christians, named after him, has not died out." [Jewish Antiquities, 18. 3 . 3]
His name...
Flavius Josephus.
In the war between the Jews and the Romans of 66-70, the Jewish general "Joseph son of Matthias" defended Galilee against the Roman legions. After he had been defeated, he defected to his enemies, and advised the Roman general Vespasian. When the latter became emperor, his adviser started a career as a historian who tried to explain Judaism to the Greeks and Romans. His most important works are the Jewish War, the Jewish Antiquities, an Autobiography and an apology of Judaism called Against the Greeks (or Against Apion). As Roman citizen, he accepted a new name: Flavius Josephus. He must have died about 100, more than sixty years old.

The Bible is not about cold, hard, verifiable facts, but about religious facts supposedly based on revelation. You can never prove it scientifically, so it's impossible (and totally irrelevant) to leave out faith based arguments.
The only reason to believe the message of the Bible is if you have trust in the Church who is the producer, holder and interpreter of the Bible.
If you don't have faith in the Church, you have virtually no reason to think the message of it's Holy Scripture is of any major importance for you.
Well, of course, if you're a Jew, you might have other very good reasons to have faith in the part of the Bible that's called the Old Testament by the Christians... ;)

Circular question. Cold hard evidence and absolute faith are mutually exclusive. Why do you have blind faith in your so-called evidence? The word proof is relative. At some point, faith is involved, you have to believe what you see, hear, experience. I'm sure a lot of faith went into your evidence when the gaps were left unfilled. But you don't mention that.
You stick to your faith and we will stick to ours, k?

I can't... and I do not know a mortal who can... and I am of The Christian Faith by the way..... you are incorect in thinking that there is no "scientific" evidence, Archialogical or geological, or other fiondings, which support The Bible... But I do not have time to give you a 4yr degree course in all of it right now...
I can offer my own experience in the form of my testimony if you care to read it... that is all any of The True Christian Faith can offer in way of The Truth known to us individualy.
I was not "born" into The Faith... though my family through my grandparents concidered themselves to be"christian"... I did not come to The Truth of The Faith untill I was 53.
Here is the link to my testimonyif you are interested

You can't be a Historian. Historians and archeologists have used the Bible to discover many ancient Historical sites.

Okay, how did David know in Psalms 8:8 that the oceans had currents before anyone ever sailed in them?
