around the ground wire on the amp terminal, it was melting. I cut off the melted part and reconnected it and it worked for a little while then for some reason no power at all. All the cables seem to be connected

Is it getting hot? I am assuming your amp doesn't have a built in fan. Try putting it somewhere the air circulates at least a little.

1st i say that you change the fuses for your amp! That`s if it`s not blown already! Then i say that you read the instructions carefully and try to reinstall the amp cuz you wired it up wrong for sure! Wires should not melt @ anytime if it`s done right.....

you could be putting out too much power, or your car battery could be low, shorting the fuse, you may want to get a larger amp, if the one you have now is not compatible with your speakers, the speakers may be putting out to much, and the juice from the amp isn't.

you overloaded the amp the impediance or Ohms was probably too low for the amp causing it to over work and burn out. Or it probably had an internal circuit board problem

could be a bad ground or ground wire or you fired the finals in the circuit board

May be your amp is not be enough for your speakers.
