Find out what he thinks about when he is alone in his thoughts. Where does he go in those thoughts, why? Then really take an interest and keep digging for more information.

What hobby does he dream about?

If he was rich enough to never work another day in his life, what would he do next?

Tell him something you find fascinating about him and ask him how that came to be.

Find out where his interests are, do some research and ask for his opinion about a specific component of the subject. Just be careful not to get drawn into having to defend a position.

It's a pity you did not mention your ages and your stages in life (like studying this and that or working for and etc.).
Anyhow, if it were me I would ask the following :
1) What are you most interested in ?
Based on his answer you can ask more on this subject.
People like to talk about what they find interesting, even if it's just explaining (especially true for men).
2) Where do you see yourself in 10 years ?
Same here, it's a good chance to discuss his views and you can also share what you see in your future
3) Whats is most important in life in your opinion ?
4) What do you like and don't like about your life right now ?
5) What sports are you in to ?

All those questions ask about him and his interests because I believe that people are really concentrated on themselves and after a conversation all about him he would feel like you are the best conversation girl in the world.

I would also not ask all those question all at once.
Too heavy.

And if he is into politics or technology just google the recent news and ask about his views on that. Be prepared to have a decent view yourself as well.

Where is your favority spot to vacation? This could possibly lead to the two of you going there on vacation (possibly through your planning as a surprise)

What are your major goals in life? This shows that you have an interest in what he's doing now, and where he's going to be.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? Once again, this shows you are interested in his interests and this could possibly be where you might go on your honey moon if all things turn out right...hahahah.

Well, it really depends on what he likes and where he goes.

1. Favourite band/singer, and has he seen them.

2. Don't go on about sport unless you like it yourself. (You may get invited to a match or event that will bore you to tears.)
3. Ask him his favourite meal. ( i don't know if you cook, so, if not, restaurant-wise food)

4. His favourite films. And is there one out that he wants to see, but hasn't.

5. His favourite pozish- joke lol, umm how does he feel about Steve irwins work.

Some of these are like a job interview questions. And i would run a mile if a date turned into a formal interview.

you don't need to ask a man lots of questions to show him you are interested, pay attention when he talks, look interested even when your not and if you do want to ask questions just ask about him his life etc, if you try to hard he will see this from a mile. just be yourself, and if at the end he don't seem one over then he's not the man for you. good luck :)

1. ask about how life was growing up... favorite childrens book, Tv show, favorite childhood memory..did he get along with his bros and sis's..family vacations... all that..

2. What is something you want to do before you die.... any trips or acomplishments...that kind of thing

3. ask about sports or .... intrests he might have mentioned.. something that even if you dont know much about...let him interest you in it. dont be fake about it... actually listen... ask questions.. he'll appreciate your interest trust me
