I need to record all of the instruments seperate, so I need something like an eight track recorder, but on the computer. Anyone know any good programs?

I don't believe Cool Edit is free or multitrack...

This page has several freeware ones listed. http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/win95/MULTITRACK_RECORDING/ Haven't tried any of them though. I will. Have been wanting to do some mulltitrack recordings with my guitar and haven't really looked into it yet. Didn't think you could get multitrack software for free. Cool!!!

your comp has one built in to it. start>accessories>entertainment>sound recorder

there is no limit to the length of it just keep pressing the record but once the moving tingy gets toward the second.
