Why didn't someone just put a hit out on Saddam Huessin instead of going in and bombing the s h i t out of the place? Why can they put a hit out on Bin Laden and the rest of the crazy extremeists out there?

What do you mean they're not allowed to? If they did it right no one would know who did it. The mafia doesn't ask permission to kill someone.

Assassinations are illegal. That's why they are not done. When JFK was in office, assassinations were still legal. However, he signed a presidential directive making it illegal. The CIA had been responsible for these little activities, and plans were being written when it was all stopped. Castro of course, was at the top of the list. All this happened after the "bay of pigs" disaster in 1961.

Assassination is illegal, signed into international law during the Ford administration in the mid-70's. Besides, how do you think guys like this get into power? They have to have supporters, and killing only a figure head only temporarily slows the problem.

They tried. Saddam's security was too tight, and he had too many doubles. So they gave up and invaded.
By the way, that happens every time we invade someplace. It's because we couldn't assassinate the leader.
They're still trying to kill bin Laden, they just can't find him.

Yeah, that's a war crime now--assasinating a political leader who isn't a military target. If we don't have rules, we can't call the terrorists evil. Doesn't that suck.

The Democrats pretty much neutered the CIA back in the 70s. They thought that we should nurture mad dogs, and that would change them for the good.
