I am 27 and I am just having my first real relationship. Just go with the flow and eventually someone will like you for who you are. You don't have to do any extra-ness. Just be yourself and try to come out of your shell.

:) long story short... u need to work on yourself. on your confidence. if u are not confident about yourself, ur appearance, ur mind, ur personality..u will NEVER feel "good enough". u will never be comfortable around strangers.... because u are always questioning urself!! the first thing u can do is to take some time out, and worry about yourself.
if i were u, i'd first work on the physical..because that will go a LONG way in making u feel confident. so i would work out, exercise, work on my body. next, i would get a different haircut, something stylish, "cool". :) next, i would make sure i take care of my face, acne, etc. anything that makes u feel uncomfortable! if u feel flabby, work out. if u don't like ur skin, get some advice, or different lotions, etc. u can do it..don't worry, the more u care about it and do something about it, the more u realize that it is fixable. i would also get some new clothes...ask people at stores for latest styles, or advice on what to buy. .usually they are pretty informative and want to help... if u are shy, go w/ some of ur friends, or look at magazines and try on those styles..see how they look.
now, we took care of the appearance.. do u feel uncomfortable about your knowledge? study harder... make sure u do well in school, or at work. read more, develop some more hobbies, learn more about cars, or writing, drawing, etc..anything u like to do. politics, history... and start discussing w/ people who are interested in the same thing. the more u voice ur opinion and talk w/ people in general, u will feel more comfortable. u have to remember to keep an open mind, and NOT judge others... u don't want people to judge u, so why judge them?
after all of that...i think u will realize that u are a smart, and fun, and outgoing person, hiding in a shell that u felt was unattractive. work on it, and u will feel better and better. :) don't worry! it takes time, but u can always focus on the positive and work on being Healthy, Happy and Positive.

So there I was, 3000 miles from home, no connections, no old friends. No network. So, I went to school. I noticed in the math and science classes there were very few women. But there were plenty women in the English and Literature classes. So I went where the women are. And in places where there are more women than men, don't worry about it. You don't have to approach them. They will come to you. And I sure learned how to write good. Guys in dance classes can come off as being a bit sissy. But your legs get real strong in a hurry. And you are surrounded by women who have very few hang ups about their bodies. Community theaters usually have a dearth of straight men. (Not that there is anything wrong with that!) Thus many of the actors in community theaters are not interested in the women around them. More for me. And if you can't act, there is usually room in tech. In the end, find something you enjoy that includes women. Then relax and let it happen. Some guys have the magnetism to attract lots of women. They have the smooth and the schmooze to pull it off. That ain't you. But you don't have to hustle 50 women. You only need to attract one. Relax. Have a good time. And always remember what my Grandmother said, " I never did see a skinny horse that you couldn't find a skinny bush to tie it to."

You have taken the first step already. You've made a conscious decision about your life. That's great! You want a change and you want to meet people-especially girls.
Every meeting is different, so it's difficult to tell you what to say to a girl, but the most important thing is to be confident when you are saying it. Start off by saying "hi" and see where it goes! Eye contact is important. Maybe say something nice about the way she looks.
The more you do it the easier it gets. We only live once- Go For It!

ok, here u go.
first of all do not tell women about your past in the beginning. once you meet someone that you feel comfortable around and have gone out in several dates then you have the right to tell her or not. but in the beginning just have fun. now where to meet women;
well since you have a few friends, hang out with them. if not go to the newspaper, there are usually social groups or clubs that you can joined and then meet people that way.
go to bookstores. walk up and down the aisles or go to a coffee shop and just sit there and read. someone might approach you.
but if you still find yourself really shy around people of the opposite sex, then i would advise you to go see a consoler. or therapist. someone that can try to get you out of your shell and be more approachable.

The first thing you need to do is remove yourself from that home. Once you are on your own you will find confidence in yourself.. Staying there is only making your nerves worse. You are a good person and as soon as you figure out who you are and what you want everything else will follow suit.

Well it sounds like you know what you want so now you have to do it. First step is always the hardest. Maybe ask some of your close friends to include more people. Hopefully a girl will get into the group and you can get to know her.

If you cant do it verbally, then you need to find another avenue such as writing or drawing to get your emotions out. Once you find a channel to do this, things will come out much more natural and meaningful. It may also not be a bad idea to speak with someone in the professional realm to assist you with your feelings and thoughts.
