I can't point to any one thing or person in particular. In the sciences, we all stand on the shoulders of giants, and if we endeavor, someday maybe someone will stand on our shoulders.

Ultimately, I inspire me. I'm imperfect, woefully imperfect. But that inspires me to try to be better every second of every day of my life.

I used to be Christian the very question "why?" led me to other religions and finally i came to the conclusion that i am just not a religious person and god is just a concept that makes no difference in my life. I do enjoy philosophizing about god and i do have some beliefs on the matter (i am not an atheist or agnostic), but the god concept doesn't effect my present moment. I am a mystic that believe in many Pagan concepts. The universe and life inspires me. Jesus is a historical person who had some good philosophies, but why would i worship him if not even he asked for that? I worship life and i am intrigued by death. I am free as bird and have an open mind and that inspires me.

you can't seriously be saying that you only find inspiration in G-d and religion? there is not a single other thing in life that inspires you? you are a very shallow person, it seems.

here are some things that i find inspiration in other than G-d and religion, and that i am sure atheists find inspiration in too.

1. human kindness
2. family and friends
3. the beauty of nature
4. meditation
5. learning and study
6. laughter, song, poetry, literature

perhaps you should stop focussing on petty dogma about the afterlife, and start focussing on the life you are living right now.

Being on a mountain top all alone and listening to the wind and the wildlife. Sitting in the snow and listening to it fall. Standing in a puddle and listening to the rain fall. This inspires me. It is great to listen to what is going on around you and not rely on visual.
