Quite the opposite, in fact. If you do not get your wisdom teeth out, as they come in they will move the rest of your teeth and you may have to get braces a second time.

It depends. I had braces twice. My wisdom teeth started to come in and i went to the dentist. He told me that from what he could tell, i would have plenty of room for them. He was wrong. My teeth have moved so much that my retainer hardly fits. I still wear it every night even though i got my braces out when i was 17, i'm 23 now. When i look at my teeth i can tell they have moved but most other people can't. However, i wish i would have gotten my wisdom teeth pulled right away because it has been so painful for them to come in. My mouth hurts so bad all i have been eating is soup and mashed potatoes for the last week. It just depends on the way your teeth will come in, but let me tell you, if you can get it taken care of sooner, do it. It will be worth it.

At the time that I had braces, my wisdom teeth had not come in yet. They did come in years after I had braces. They didn't affect my teeth at all. My retainer still fits & I haven't had any problems. But I guess every person is different.

Usually people get their wisdom teeth pulled as they're beginning to grow in. Sometimes they have them removed before they break through the gums due to them not coming in straight but instead on an angle.

Also to add, you should never stop wearing your retainer. Your teeth will shift regardless of your wisdom teeth. Just wear it at night before you go to bed and your teeth will always remain straight.

i work 4 an orthodontist and here is some free advice!
he says remove them if there is no room and or tilted side ways
it is better 4 them to be removed when they are still in the bone. harder when growing in. yes if you let them grow in they will shift your teeth and they will keep growing out until they have something to bite on. so basically you could get some really long molar teeth
good luck!
