Why do Christians argue that evolution does not occur....isn't it proven. I am a 15 year old kid but without reading any books on it or anything I can see that Evolution must occur....It's simple:
If you take a herd of buffalo and put em up to a northern area the ones with the thicker hair will be more likely to survive. They will then pass on their DNA to the next generation and that generation will repeat the process again and again until almost that whole herd has very thick fur. Eventually the species up north over a looooooong time will look nothing like the ones down south, ... It may even have required superior intelligence to be able to survive along with the thick fur so the ones up north may also have differently designed brains head shape, fur thickness, body build....and a lot of stuff. How can christians say this doesn't happen? I am not a teacher or anything so maybe that's a bad explanation but... that's obvious that would occur right??

Seeking answers is 2/6 the same as 6/18? ..it is just on a bigger scale...and no that doesn't take place from infancy to adulthood, it takes place because of the species that is more suited to surviving passing on the DNA...sry I couldn't explain better.

A Bison will always remain a Bison, it may adapt to the climate it lives in but it will not become another animal. A good example of this is Darwin's Finches, all look a little different in that they each adapted a specialization they needed, but the bottom line is, that they are all still Finches and that's all they ever will be. People who don't believe in God would like you to believe in evolution, but it will always remain a theory because there is no proof or evidence that one creature ever became another creature, a cat can't, say, become a dog as an example, they have no fossils to back anything up that they talk about, if they do, then why don't they put it on National Television for all to see, it's because they don't have any.

Proven? Evolution has not been proven since scientific theories cannot be proven. There is a wealth of evidence that evolution occurs, and people behave like evolution is proven. But, to state it is proven misunderstands the mechanisms of science.
Take the Law of Gravity. It is called a law because in all instances scientists have seen show that it is true. But, it is still an unproven theory even though there is a huge amount of evidence supporting the theory. We simply assume that gravity will work because it always has.
The question of God is one that can't be answered. You may take the words in a book to be true because everyone you know says it is true. Does it mean that it *is* true? No, it doesn't. Scientists want some backing evidence to convince themselves that such and such is true. There is no evidence that there is a God beyond a book and the beliefs of people. I cannot measure God, and I cannot touch God. I have to take God on faith.
But, science takes nothing on pure faith. You have to have measurable items to convince scientists of something's truth. This doesn't mean that you cannot believe in God and be a scientist. But, you need to compartmentalize your life into items you can test and those you take on faith.
As for how people can say x or y happened, people still believe that the various "races" of humans are more different than alike. People believe in astrology. Humans seek patterns in the world and need explanations for those patterns that they see. But, we can be deluded by our own eyes and minds about reality. Science tries to cut through the limitations of our own senses to describe the world as it is rather than using wishful and hopeful thinking.

Christians will mostly dispute the concept of macroevolution, they will say that an animal cannot evolve into a different "kind", fortunately for them the definition of a "kind" is ridiculously loose. I remember reading one time about an essay which some guy had written on the evolution of the polar bear. He sent it to Kent Hovind (famous creationist psychopath) to claim a prize for proving evolution. Hovind's reply was something along the lines of "STFU THATS NOT EVOLVED ITS STILL A BEAR LOL!!!11!!"(notice the subtle characterization) That's a pretty typical response, they all just follow their Bible and ignore the obvious.

Don't you think it is a sad commentary on faithfully dim people that a teenager with a "stoner" name, can logically and intelligently argue for evolution?
Christians--not all, the ones who would deny evolution- are very afraid! Fear makes a person or group irrational.
They have already suspended the use of their brains to buy into the "dead guy comes back to life and does miracles, just for you if you send money to this address" promise of the majority of nut-wad religions.
Why should they turn their brains back on to listen about stem-cells or millions of years old stars or Australopithecus and dinosaurs?
Better keep it off so someone doesn't scare them with talk of a "virgin" actually being impregnated by an old geezer who took her across "state" jursidiction to escape prosecution for fornication.

Well, to put it simple...those buffalo looked different from the start. You said it yourself, they had thicker hair. Then they passed on their DNA to their offspring....are you trying to say that over the years the hair started to change and become thick to match the place they were in.....well, it was ALREADY like that! lol.
It's not evolution, they were created like that already. They didn't go from being one thing, then becoming something else. Thats like saying you could have kids that look like robots if you wanted them to be more 'refined', so to speak, than humans....it's just not possible. The DNA you pass along is one of a kind, it is not some kind of gene that, generation after generation, it gets better and better.

I believe in God, but am not a fanatic, so I really cant answer your question....I just think you are an extremely intelligent young man. Excellent question, and I think any Christian would have a hard time denying evolution as you have described it. Youre only 15....you are going to go a long way with a mind like yours.

You have a rather strong argument.
What Christians deny is that 'man' evolved from animals as has been spouted over time.
In your example, you were correct that the animal evolved somewhat differently but, it did not become human. We do not support that.
When people of different ethnicities have offspring of 'mxed blood' as it is termed, the children do not look exactly like one parent or the other, they take on their own hair texture, skin colour, facial appearance, bone structure.
This is the argument, really. Humans beget humans. Animals beget animals.

You're a smart "kid".
Christian argument is primarily around the concept of macro evolution.
In truth evolution is evolution: micro or macro. If one occurs both will occur.
And here is proof: All dogs are descended from wolves, through humans selective breeding.

I am not a creationist but you have to keep in mind the weaknesses in the theory - the example you gave shows that animals adapt to their environment, however that does not prove that they evolved from a dissimilar animal. There is evidence for the theory of evolution, but it is not enough to make it anything but a theory - we will discover more and be able to elaborate (and possibly completely change) the theory as we keep searching for clues
