That's a pretty deep question. I personally feel like it does matter what you believe in and that life does have a purpose, but these beliefs don't necessarily have to be religious in nature. I don't think that adhering strictly to a religion your entire life will have made your life purposeful. I guess what I am saying is that it is really up to you. If you want your life to have a purpose, then you have to work hard and believe in what you do. How can your life have a purpose if you choose to believe that it doesn't? I hope this made some sense to you...

Humans have to have something to believe in. We are not capable of handling the thought of the end being the end with no after life. Life has the purpose you give it. I give my life the purpose of raising my children good and being a good soulmate to my husband and trying to live as a good person. Some people tend to have higher goals for their purpose of life but it is what ever keeps you living and feeling your life is worth living.

Your question is very interesting. In fact, what we believe does not matter in the sense that what we believe won't change actual facts. I mean, God exists or he doesn't regardless of what you think. Today is Friday (or Saturday, depending on where you are), no matter how many people believe it's Wednesday.

Now, does life have a purpose? Well, only if you give it one. It's up to you...

Of course it matters, life is a huge, unlimited enigma...We are to solve this riddle,I think that must be the purpose. But as life is unlimited, the purpose has no limitation either...Human 's brain is imperfect, but man should do his best TO FIND OUT WHY,...That 's why we are here...
so what you recognize from this riddle,(what you belive)is the most important point of your life. This is a rule:"You will create whatever you believe, and what you do n't believe does n't exist in your life"
So we should be careful about what we believe & it needs to listen to both your brain & HERAT to reach the reality. It 's a hard task!!!
(Hope it helps!)

If you believe your life has a purpose, then it does. At least, it does for you...and isn't that what really matters?
So, yes, I guess it does matter what you believe.

Yes, it does matter what you believe.

Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.

Yes, it does matter what we believe. The Bible warns us against listening to false teachers--those who teach us to worship the world, money, gods of all sorts, etc.

Our purpose in life is to love and worship God. We must accept Jesus, and spread God's word.

God does not send us to hell; we send ourselves by rejecting Him. After all, He is giving non-believers what they want. They don't want any part of Him in life, so He is to believe that they want no part of Him in death. He won't drag you kicking and screaming to Heaven. If you don't want to go, you won't.

It doesn't matter what you believe, but the truth prevails. I may not believe in gravity when I jump off of a building, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.
The same is true in religion. Only one can be right.
