Sadly no. If she had opened the letter then she would have been guilty by law but probably only a misterminer. Best bet is to print the e-mail and physically show your ex-boyfriend what kind of girl he really is involved with. Make his gears turn and wonder out loud what else of his she goes through. Guys normally don't like that behavior...and act accordingly.

I'm not sure if you can submit it as a confession. But it sure is a crime actually I do believe it is a federal offense. Punishable by up to 10 years in prison per piece of mail. I would let him know and see what he wants to do about it. Thats totally his call because its his mail. But you dont deserve to be treated like that. Sorry this happened and good luck!

It might be illegal to mess with the mail intended for someone else and I don't see where a girlfriend is exempt from the law but your ex boyfriend most likely would have to be the one to pursue legally.
If he doesn't care about your mail being thrown out, but you feel you have grounds to pursue because it was intended for her but him, I think you might have a long shot but do what you feel you need to do.

Call the Postmaster General and find out. You can't mess with someone else's mail even if you live in the same house.
However, I don't blame her. Why are you contacting your ex? Let him get on with his life.

it's a crime to tamper with someone's mail unless he gave her permission..... Why are you sending your ex boyfriend letters anyway? If you have something THAT important and I mean IMPORTANT to be bothering your ex with... send it certified... he's the only one who can sign for it.... otherwise.... have him get his own information

You didn't deserve that... you should just scare her a little bit and tell her you are taking her to court....I do think that is some kind of legal offense

It's probably not legal to mess with someone else's mail, but I'd do it too!

I would have to know if he is allowing her to look at his mail before I could answer that question.
