Girl Scout Cookies help support the organization of Girl Scouts for certain events, camping trips and other activities. Your money is actually a donation going to a great cause towards the community. Part of the money of that contribution also goes to the people who make and distribute the cookies in the first place.

In a way you are helping both a stable job security and local community at the same time. Everyone wins. This is an organization that helps girls become strong and independent women from learning survival skills.

The volenteers who are part of the organization can only dontate a certain amount of money to help support fund the Girl Scouts along with the various functions.

Usually to my co-workers. I have been buying Girls Scout Cookies for years and I haven't seen an actual Girl Scout in 15 years. I'm not sure there are any Girl Scouts, it may be they are now just imaginary or something. Actually, I think there may be a small office below the White House where they store the money.

Girl Scout cookie money goes to several places. The girls get a certain amount per box. It defers based on what council (or area) they are in. Girls here get $.50 per box. Each box costs $3.50. Then the local Council gets a certain amount per box. And last of all, Girl Scouts USA gets some money as well. Cookie sales is a major money-earning opportunity for the girls. It helps them go on trips and participate in troop actvities that might not otherwise be possible.

A box of girl scout cookies costs $4.00. Out of that .70cents goes to the troop that sold the box of cookies and $3.30 goes to the girl scout council.

Boxes are $3.50 here. .50 to the troop some goes to the council, the rest goes to the cost of the cookie (bakery, shipping, etc)
