I eat a lot of protein, but i dont get to excericse much. (walking a lot, but the rest of my excercises have kind of come to a hault) so would I still be able to lose weight if I eat more protein, or is just for muscle mass and body building?

I know this is a vauge/wierd question. i dont know quite how to put it. im not dumb, i know you need protein and that it works on muscle, but how much is a good daily portion, and how will it help me? With weight control?

in order to maintain the muscle mass that you have, you need to continue to eat as much protein as you were when you were lifting. the only problem is that once you stop lifting you won't crave as much protein. what happens next is that you will lose some muscle mass, but it doesn't mean you will get fat. most likely you will just be lean. just don't eat fattening foods or tons of carbs if you lose your protein crave. eat healthy and you will stay in shape. it's not a dumb question at all! btw, protein keeps you fuller longer than carbs, so in every meal you want to have some protein.

I remember years ago a friend of mine tried something that was called "Mega Mass"...it was a supplement available at most supplement supply places. It was in the form of a shake. I'm not sure if it's still available...or even available where you live, but you should definitely look into it. It worked well for him. Good Luck. PS = foods like Avocados...Salmon and nuts, have a high fat content, but it's the good for you kind. You may want to incorporate some of those foods into your daily diet..

Protein has got nothing to increase your weight, only avoid carbohydrates.
Any excess protein consumed is automatically discarded by the body metabolism.
Dont worry, Good Luck

You want to keep eating enough (1 gram per pound of bodyweight) to maintain or build your musclature) the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism will be and the more efficient you will be at burning fat.
