My grandmother is a complete rotten lying (b)itch (read on and you shall see why, and this is only things that have happend in the last 3 months). She has cost my mother her job, by convincing the lady she took care of to call in and fire her. She has hurt my feelings saying that I'm a horrible young woman because I'm serving my country and I"m a soon to be single mom. She was rude and hateful to my now deceased grandfather and she wants money so badly that she is digging into her son (my father) to force him to sell things that were my grandpa's that he wants to keep.

Now, I want this woman to have nothing to do with my child but I feel that I am obligated to tell the woman to kiss my *** and what I think of her lying ways. Am I wrong for this? Or should I just stop talking to the woman all together?

She has also declared that she wants nothing to do with my child. And has called me several names while her other grandchildren (2 of which are drug addicts) are "God's Angels". But I'm just a wretched lost little girl, according to her. I could go on and on about the hurt and pain this woman has caused but we would be here until 2010. She has caused so much her for my family and I'm at my limit, I just want to know if I'm justified in saying "NO more, I want nothing to do with you."

Why do you feel that you are under obligation to let your baby see your grandmother? I don't think you need to - if she is that full of hate, what is she going to say to you? Nothing nice so don't bother.

I would wait until she has something good to say & let her come to you rather than the other way around.

Like the first answer says, great grandmothers don't paly a major role in the rearing of babies so play it by ear and see how things go.

So what if your going to be a single mom, what difference does that make. You are keeping the child and going through with the pregancy alone, you need a hug for that, shallower people would have had an abortion.

I wish you the very best of luck with your future with your baby and good health :-)

Your best bet is to go quietly and do good for yourself and child... Keep contacts open with the rest of your family, but avoid any or all contact with your Grandmother... Let her rant and rave to the rest of your family... and if she talks about you, look at it as being okay, because she's leaving someone else alone... and if you are ever around her and find a need to speak with her... Just tell her, "Hi Grandmother, you are looking well..." and give her a great big smile and walk away...

It's very destructive to be around someone who is so terribly negative. You owe her nothing. Keep yourself and your child away from the woman. There's not a need for a big confrontation unless she forces one. Try to just break all contact quietly.

get away from the hag. I don't care if she's family, if she's that evil, why put up with it? I can understand your parents feeling obligated to stay close, but I don't see any reason for you to attempt to get some old cranky woman to love your child. (some old people are just grouches)

you may feel light by saying the words but she would be immune to it all. You may end up feeling frustrated. The best way to punish is to avoid. I know that easier said than done.

Cut her out - sounds like you have enough to deal with on your own. Congratualtions and God speed.

It's your grandmother, that would make it your kid's great-grandma, why have them around her much anyway?
