I used to because i had grown up with it. When i was older i started to question god and the bible and found no one could give me a proper answer so i decided god doesn't exist, or if he does then the bible isn't credible.

Just about every one thinkd there is some kind of God... many change their minds many times about the subject...
I believe there is other inteligent life out there in the unverse... I believe in lots of things... But I KNOW There is only One True God... For those who are of The True Christian Faith there is no posability that any would turn away from The Way, The Truth, and The Life.
Some may think they "believed" in god.... but they never knew The God. If they had they would not make the statement that they no longer "believed"

I was raised Lutheran, and when I was a small child, I believed the stories and tales I was told about god. But as I grew older and began to think for myself, I found no evidence of any god present in my world. I considered myself "atheist" for quite a while, but I now would consider myself "agnostic" because I know I do not have all te answers to the origins of man and the universe. But I do not believe that any religion has the correct answer either.

It's all too easy to believe everything we are told... especially when we are so young. It's akin to advertising campaigns... we are sold the idea of God.
I think that children should never be indoctrinated, but should be allowed to make their own decisions when they become old enough to make such a life changing decision.
Were you to, say, buy a new car, wouldn't it make sense to look around first rather than takes someone's word for it that a particular model is the one for you?.
you just wouldn't do it.... you would want to make an informed decision surely.
I left the christian faith many years ago as I realised that it was all a fake.... manmade rubbish written so long ago and never updated.
get real..... Live your own religion - love yourself and others around you - that's the best way towards personal enlightenment.

I was raised in the church, and believed it by default until my teens, when I started to develop critical thinking skills and apply them to my own beliefs.
I then began a process of contemplation, research, and discovery, looking for evidence of which religion was correct.
After years, I decided that while of the hundreds of religions on earth, while they may not all be right, they may all be wrong, and none had more than useful practical philosophy.

In the past, so much wrongs were done in the name of God by mankind to mankind. I began to doubt that the philosophy being preached by priests was just a lot of propaganda to fit the times.
In recent history, its been proven that a lot of priests were abusive perverts, who were protected by the church. Which hardend my doubts to resolve.
I don't believe in the one God, also because the bible itself was written by biased flawed men, whose narrow points of view only condoned discrimination indifference and denial.

There are lots of ex-christians out there, including ones who were priests or theologians or decades.
I'm not one of them - I've been an atheist for as long as I've been old enough to have an opinion. However, you can find all the testimonials and information you would ever want on this topic by googling "deconversion".

I used to... it was told that God would help you get through the tough times.. he never did. I was told if you prayed he would help you with whatever you needed. He never did. Only when I cast him aside did things improve.
