I know sometimes we're typing fast and we are human. and apostrophes waste time. Im not getting paid for this you know. and then they want to pick apart the good book too Ugh...maybe they should examine their own hearts instead..

If you think we are not judged on how we write, how we spell, then think again. EVEN here, where the questions and insults fly, writing is more than just important, it identifies those who are educated and those who are not...and those who are not are deemed less than bright. This is the way it is all over the world...why should Yahoo be any different. And to those who misspell, use poor grammar, I advise looking at just the responses to bad spelling..it says much about how your are judged in the world. Sorry to be such a prig, but that is how it is, babe.

Proper spelling gets your message across more clearly, with less chance of confusion. It's also shows respect to the people who will be reading the question/answer, demonstrating that you care enough to put the effort into writing in an intelligible manner.

I'm not hung up on it, particularly. I was once an English teacher, so I just try to do it right myself and set a good example.
It just takes a minute to use the spelling checker. I do.

As you know there is a simple spell check button. When you ask a question you are showing your own intelligence in the spelling and grammar you use. If something is worth doing it is worth doing correctly. When you show a lack of concern for basic grammar it is a reflection on you.
The devil is in the details.

I've seen a few Q's so badly misspelled that you can't understand the question. A few typos, OK, but at least TRY the spell check.

It's only matters to people who can spell.
If people can learn to use Yahoo Answers, you would think they could push the button, which says, (Check Spelling) in the upper right hand corner, and yes, it's not always correct either, but it's simple to use.

It's just common courtesy. I like to spell correctly so people know that I really care about my answer or question. Plus there's a spell check, it's really easy to just click it.

Um, because it is annoying to see people butcher the english language. Also, I have a hard time taking a person's stupid question about their "bf" in middle school seriously when thy can't even form a sentence. It just makes me think that they should focus less on petty dating and focus more on being less stupid.
