go to the education center on your base. they may offer it at a discounted rate or for free. also if they offer sat prep classes sign up for them and take them so you can be prepared as the sat's have changed a few times in the last 5-10 years. good luck!

-edit-- ps-- ignore the nay sayers. many officers started as enlisted, went to college and became officers. those officers are the truley good ones as they have the same experieces as the enlisted officers and can relate to the better than the straight out of college right into officer school ones. its an honor thing and as a marine im sure you know that. as a navy wife i say screw the people who are talking trash, get your education, retire as an officer with the mad loot officer retirement pay, then go work at a company that will pay your 5 times what they would pay these jokers because youll have had the experience and training they wont have. :) also, your wedding pic is awesome. congrats!

If you're already in the Marine Corps, there are a surplus of resources available to assist you in preparing for, and taking the SAT's. I'm only familiar with Air Force/Army terminology, but you should be able to find a good start through Military.com or your Battalions education office. If that fails, check with the base library, as they'll may be able to assist you in this.

As for when is the best time, that's entirely up to you and how long it'll take for you to best prepare to take the test. Other then that, do as much research and question asking as possible to best prepare yourself for being an officer.

They usually offer lower fees in the fall during alot of testing times for colleges. But really the best time to take one is when you have studied up on alot of things cause I know it was hard for me when I went and took it again for the 2 time and I've only been out of high school for 2 years.

A future officer with no Idea! You will fit in fine! Just go enlisted and work for a living. You may actually learn some thing as a enlisted troop.
