Puerto Rico is part of the United States. You may need id for airport security but nothing is required to enter or leave Puerto Rico for a US citizen.

Puerto Rico is a country that has a political association with US as a commonwealth. passport is not required at present time. ID card is requested by airlines.

US passport will be required soon, so I suggest to take it with you. The airport here it's a 'rebolu' so you must be ready for anything!

I just used my CA driver's license. I brought my passport with me, just in case I needed it (which I didn't).
