There are many things to come in our life time that is layed out in the bible that is there to let us know when the time for Jesus to return for His church is closer than we think. Here is a good example...

Mark 13:8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

The tsunami was an underwater earthquake, which is what the bible calls earthquakes in divers places. We are at war with other countries right now. Their are countires right now who are fighting Israel, which Israel is God's chosen people. That is as close as you can get to taking on God in this war. It is turning into a holy war.

Luke 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

Micah 4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it

I live in the mountains, and in the past 12 years, there has been an incredible influx of people from big cities over flowing into the mountainous areas.

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

Here is one that is happing right now..

2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts

Biblical prophecy is foretelling an event before it happens. The Bible is unique in this regard. No other writing foretold events decades or centuries before they happened.

Alexander th Great
The Babylonian exile
The birth of Jesus Christ
The destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD

That someday Jesus will come back, take his followers to heaven and let the rest of us fight it out in the midst of a lot of natural and human-caused disasters. Also a bunch of stuff about humans who get "left behind" and still find Christianity.

Then after a period of time of fighting, dying, and being martyred, the Christians from this time will be given a new land to screw up.
