Within the Rcc some people still celebrate their name day but very few. I went to an Rcc school on our name(s) day (the school and also the pastor) we'd learn about that saint's life and how we can mirror it in our own. we would go to mass to celebrate together and have a half day.
we are a Polish Rcc church and the name days are still a little more structured in the older Polish community. I'm named after The Mary so.... i'd have more name days then i could handle.
we don't really celebrate name days any more in our town, however within my family, my folks and also myself, will try to make sure we attend mass on the name days of each other or our family.
we are all named after a biblical person & for a special reason based upon their life.

Not really sure what name day is however I know being raised catholic that you do chose a saint name when you are confirmed into the church. But I have never really heard of people celebrating their saint on a certain day. I have certainly never heard of name day.....hmmm
*****Not sure how this was given a thumbs down...its just information provided...no opinions involved. Its a fact that when you are confirmed you chose a saint name. Maybe I didnt know how to answer the question in the best manner but hey whatever....idiot.****

I used to work for a lady who is Catholic and she is the one who told me about the Catholic Name Day. We even researched one for me (Methodist, but love learning new things religious or otherwise) which happened to be about a 6 month differential from my birthday. I do not think that other religions do this and it is because they do not practice the reason behind the tradition.

Since I used to be married to a Catholic, let me answer.
No, they do not. They do not have a name day. Catholics are the only flavor of Christianity that I know of that does that. I know other religions do, but by and large none of the Prodestants do.

Catholics celebrate feast days for saints. But I think that is the day they were Cannonized as a saint or their birthdate.
