like a spiritual couch potato or something?

why do you associate "faith" with lazy.? Faith is anything BUT lazy.

People put their trust in different things. Some place faith in the Lord; others trust in themselves or another person. Faith can even be placed in relationships, money, or politics. Anytime we put absolute trust in something, we demonstrate faith. So, the question isn't, Do I have any faith? but rather, In what have I placed my faith? Looking at that question honestly will shake up your assumptions about your spiritual life.
An old saying explains, "Faith gives feet to belief." Simply put, this means that faith is the active expression of what you believe about God. If you have the idea that He sits in some far-off place called "heaven" and only halfheartedly listens to your prayers, then that will reveal itself in your day-to-day walk of faith. Your God will seem small, powerless, and disinterested. The result will be a string of seemingly unanswered prayers and a general sense of defeat.
If, on the other hand, you believe that God is right beside you, whispering in your ear, pouring out His Holy Spirit upon you - and that He is intimately familiar and concerned with the minutiae of your life - then such a belief will impact your faith walk. Prayer will be a joyful exchange between cherished friends, and the evidence of our heavenly Father's miraculous power will become commonplace in your daily life.

Weak faith says, "God can." Great faith says, "God will." But perfect faith - godly faith - says, "It's done." Your faith is your testimony.

That is anything..BUT..lazy, for anyone. Even YOU :)P

That is a GREAT question! Bravo! I think certainly it substitutes for our going out and doing our own research and discovery, or thinking for ourselves sometimes, (which can require some formal education in reasoning), but also some things are not accessible to us directly, so our faith is a necessary evil, so to speak. For example, we have to take our dentist's word for it, really, that he knows what he's doing or that our name is Bob! We only think it is cause our parents told us it was!

Religious faith tho, I don't see how we could possibly explore that any - other than felt or dreamed experiences, and word of mouth, who knows or can prove anything? So in that area, I'd say our faith is not a product of laziness, but in other areas it sure can be.

Faith has nothing to do with laziness.

Faith is deciding to believe in something you can't prove. If anything, it takes more courage---and therefore, more effort---to believe in something unproveable than something you can prove.

For example, it's tremendously hard (or even impossible) for some people to believe that someone loves them.

If I said "I love you", neither you nor I could prove that love existed; you'd just have to believe it was true. That would take a lot of courage (especially considering I'm just some weird guy on Yahoo Answers!).

I'm guessing some people are going to tell you they work hard at their faith, to keep it, to spread the word. But perhaps its laziness for others. They were brought up it, never thought too much about it, and just continue on in the same habit and can (sometimes smugly) say they are a Christian. But not practising. Which means lazy, I guess.

Sometimes, (when people come to believe in a flash)

But usually it come from an active pursuit of understanding. Not just from reading the Bible, but meditation on what you read, and what you see around you.

Also, there are many physical evidences of what you learn.

It may be a byproduct of all kinds of negative feelings such as the fear that there is no life after death, the fear that we are too weak to solve our own problems, hopelessness etc.

Often. I hear people supporting God with zero evidence, when they could actually say something intelligent. Other believers say intelligent things about God and the Bible.
