Yep!
Actually, Jesus is not quoted as saying this when he was robed in flesh as a man but, Jesus is the One true God and it was He who said this in the Old Testament.

Shouldn't that be "Man says vengence is mine sayeth the lord"?
Who can speak for God? Certainly not the son of a carpenter.

No. As Newton said, "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." Justice tries for that bar. Sometimes it's effective. At other times it doesn't quite make it. But our court system does try. It does reach for true justice where the offending party makes some kind of recompense to the victim. It's not revenge but a real desire to try and restore balance.

Hey Vlad,
When Jesus says vegeance is mine- he is referring to the fact that everyone will have to give an account for all their actions. The encouragement is not to repay evil for evil (to turn the other cheek when insulted) because mercy and grace is the way of the cross. It reminds us that we shouldn't get so caught up in why people are always being so messed up and trying to figure that out- we are just to love people- and leave everything up to God. God will sort everything out at the end. Some people God chooses to punish right away- some till the end- the point is not about God's punishment- the point is that God gives people opportunity after opportunity to make things right- and believers should be used to encourage righteousness in an attitude of love and mercy.
Hope that helps,
Nickster

I think that absolute justice is being realize through the Lord,s statement.
God have the complete knowledge to counterbalance to be moderate and just between any two opponents.
The person who think that he had unjustly oppressed is being asked by the Lord not to revenge by himself. God is fulfilling the justice during life or there in heaven.
This concept releases vengeance and provides peace and satisfaction to those who had been wronged.

Justice is the administration of what is right in a fair and impartial way and according to a standard. God's standards are perfect and there are consequences for those who do not respect his laws. It may seem like revenge to someone who had done something wrong and doesn't want to be punished for it, but would it be fair to let someone do something to harm another with immunity?

No. Justice is no ambition and no anger, but simply for the sake of goodness in the world. Just like how love is not greedy. ;)
