Call the State Board of Cosmetology, but I am sure you would need some continuing education classes and take the written exam. I had to do this when I moved to another state, even though I had more than enough hours and years of experience. It was well worth it, I now have Managing licenses in Ohio and Michigan. Good luck!

I think it would depend on which state you received your license in. I do know that in the state of Michigan if your license is expired for even one day you have to re-take your state exams. It does not however require that you return to school. To the statement that was made "We don't need hair trends from 20 years ago", sorry to be the one to inform you, but the styles from the 70's have been the current thing lately. All styles, clothing, hair, home interior design, furnishings, all repeat themselves.

whatever it is it's worth your time and effort because your desire is step number one as you know and don't be discouraged about anything or anyone that tries to be negative or to get you to think you can't get back in the game because you CAN if you have the WILL and by the way......old school style IS THE NEW STYLE.....where have some people been looking? .......good luck hope blessings on your way!

yes .They would make you take the test all over again and its a pain in the but.Plus I don't know how many hours you did.If there is a different set hours that you have to have now that's different than before.I know I went to school in1987 and we had to have 1800 hrs and now I think its only 1600 needed,But they will retest and us older folks cant keep up with the newer tests,They keep getting harder.I don't think I would pass easy anymore.I am in arizona
