just had someone compare the fact of gay marriage to letting people *** animals and giving pedophiles a free hand at things....do you people notice how sick that is?comparing people who love each other and want to get married to people who *** your children to death?

OK it's not the same thing. The only comparison is that according to the Bible they all are sins that greatly grieve God. Being in a homosexual relationship is saying to God that his plan for creation and making a man and women to complete each other was wrong and that you know better. God had a special plan that didn't include same sex marriages. If he did it would have been pretty hard to populate the earth two separate times. The first after creation and the second after the flood. If you choose that kind of lifestyle that's your own choice and no you shouldn't be compared with pedophiles or people who are into bestiality. God calls use to love one another and more Christians need to start doing that.

Yeah, that's something called bigotry. It's irrational discrimination based on prejudicial beliefs and biased opinions about lifestyles and groups. Just don't generalize that it's all Christians doing this. Most of them are very nice and think it's wrong to discriminate in that way, in my experience. The hateful ones give the decent ones a bad name.

And no, god never said that being gay is abominable and makes him hate you, jerks. Humans wrote it in the Bible, even though your God supposedly loves everyone. You want to follow in Jesus' footsteps? Try letting people live as they wanted to, the way he did. Jesus was a really nice guy. I don't know if he was the Son of a god, but he certainly had some really great ideas that many of the other people responding to this question seem to dismiss in favor of prejudice and persectuion.

I agree with you. Gay marriage is not the same as animal sex and molestors. But please don't think that all Christians think this way. The people that say they are Christians and then back it up with stupidity aren't true followers of Christ. They are just stupid and ignorant to the fact that they are stupid. Most Christians don't think this way. Your 2nd sentence says "do you people ..." It's isn't fair to assume that because a few idiots say stupid things that all Christians think the same way.

As a Catholic myself and having gay friends and having been interested in the same sex for a few years, I understand that gay people want to be married. Gay people fall in love just like straight people but we have had the sanctity of marriage as being one man with one woman since the first couple was married thousands of years ago. Marriage was always a vow of commitment before the eyes of God. So in a religious aspect, two same sex people can't be married in the eyes of God. But our society has allowed judges to marry people because many people have turned away from their religion. So gays being married by law can be legalized, and then you have to fight with the religious people. When you put all these factors together, a separation of church and state was the wrong thing to do. There are few countries today that would even allow gays to be open and live their lifestyle publicly. They will never let gays get married. So being gay in America does give them more freedom.

What bothers me is that many "homophobic" people only think of the sexual act when they think of gays. Gay people are the same as straight people. They work, they teach, they play sports, they shop, they own businesses, they have homes and so on and so on. They have feelings and likes and dislikes, etc. But "homophobics" don't see them this way, they only focus on the sex part. I don't like seeing a gay couple making out in a park or at the movies just like I don't like seeing a straight couple making out. That stuff should stay at home. This issue will never go away. Gays people will not all of a sudden turn straight. Straight people won't turn gay. We just need to come to a compromise that suits both parties. Honestly, I don't see that happening because there are too many stupid idiots claiming to be Christians.

Being attracted to the same gender isn't a sin. The sin is when the same genders have sex together. God created two genders for a reason. Satan put the temptation of same sex attraction in us. (my opinion)

Some people don't follow conventional logic. Some people miss the lesson Jesus gave us about loving one another as we love God. They somehow miss that He never used the word "except."

Being angry with those people won't help you or change them. Jesus said love those that offend you, through love you can help them and yourself.

I'm not sure why you aimed the question at Christians. There are just as many homophobes that aren't believers.

As sick as it sounds God calls all sin the same so you making the choice to be Gay and live in a lifestyle disobedient to god makes you no different.

The word Abomination is what god used to describe homosexuality. thats a pretty strong word that cannot be misinterpreted. You choosing to be gay choose to be abomination.
