His dad gave it to him once; he liked it. But I don't want him to have it again if it could do him harm. My son, however, liked it (NO, there was no hot sauce in it!)

Thanks in advance!

Mswildman2005, I'm in TOTAL agreement about soda. I am one mama who don't allow her toddler soda, or ANY other junk food/beverage for that fact!

It's veggie juice!
It should be GOOD for him!
Heck yeah, if he'd drink it I'd let him have it.
No more than once a day though.

My soon to be 3-year old loves drinking V-8 Juice. He is big on snacking all day on crackers, cheese, fruit, cereal, and those fruit chewies. I have always had a hard time getting him to eat his veggies. Sometimes he will eat all his veggies at dinner, other times I just can't get him to do it.

Since he drinks V-8 at least I know he is getting his servings of veggies. Which is really important! Most kids wouldn't even think of drinking the stuff, be glad when your child does! It is so much better than drinking juice all day which is packed with sugar!

I would reccomend feeding him the low-sodium version rather than the regular type - the sodium content of regular V8-type drinks is astronomical. If you can find a fruit or vegetable juice that has fewer preservatives, and especially less salt, I don't see why not.

Another thing you could try is getting a juicer and making your own vegetable blend - it's guaranteed to be healthier than any canned / bottled version.

Its V8 Juice, not bloody Mary mix so its fine for him. V8 also does a fruit and veg mix juice you could try him on that too. It means that if he doesn't eat all his veggies at the dinner table you know that he has still gotten his serving of veg for the day. Go for it and count yourself lucky that you have a child that is getting the nutrition needed to grow.

If you have a history of high-blood pressure in your family or his dad's family I would give him the low-sodium version. There is nothing in V-8 that is bad for people. They do make the V-8 splash that is diet, but my son's doctor told me to not give much fruit juice now that my son is 2, to give fresh fruit instead. She said it takes so much fruit to make 1 glass of juice that even the No-sugar added ones are too high

Yeah, I just found out my 3 year old likes the stuff too! That is so not a bad thing! I mean, why would it be? Do you know something about vitamin filled veggie juice that I don't?

Read the ingredients it's all vegetables really, how could this be bad? call a doctor and get advice.too much of some things are not good. Coke would be worse.choc. milk has loads of sugars as well as alot of juices . v-8 without the tabasco or beer i think is ok.

Of course. Why wouldn't you? I gave my kids V8 all the time. They all love it to this day and its like one of teh best things you can drink. When my 16 yr old asks for V8 instead of Soda I feel pretty good about it.

V8 veggie juice is 100% juice. It cannot do your child any harm. Let him have it. This is the only way that I can get my son to 'eat' veggies (he's 2).

It's pure vegetables; don't worry! :)

It's not only safe, but it's a great idea! V8 is low calorie and has tons of vitamins and minerals. I have a two year old and we give it to him all of the time. I'm an ER doctor and my wife is an ER nurse. Hope this helps!

Yes, I would a 3 year old V8. But I would not give my child the V8 Splash drinks since they are full of sugar.
