A condom is a device, usually made of latex, or more recently polyurethane, that is used during sexual intercourse.
Condoms may fail due to bursting caused by latex degradation (typically from being past the expiration date or being stored improperly). So better use one which are not expired and store them in a cool places, since heat will degrade latex too.

Latex can break down over time, especially when exposed to extremes of temperature (like body heat from being carried around in a guy's wallet.) If the lube dries up, that would also weaken the integrity of the latex. The expiration dates are put on there to remind you not to use ones that have been sitting around long enough to have a greater potential of breakage.

you check the expiration date printed on the packaging. If the expiration date has passed, it's best to use a newer condom since expired condoms may be less effective for sex.

Latex rubber degrades over time, especially with exposure to heat. If you use an expired one you run a high risk of it getting pinholes or failing altogether.

They are made of latex which doesnt last forever. Latex can become dry, brittle, and possibly crack (even if you cant see them, they do crack).
That said, the integrity of the condom wouldnt hold up as well to "rigorious movement" and there is the chance of "fluids" passing through.
Moral of the story, if its been sitting around a while, throw it out and buy new!

When they expire they get kinda brittle and dried out. If you were to use one like that the chances of it breaking are pretty big. So if I were you I would steer clear.

At the designated date they simply implode.
Do not be near one when they expire.

Yes, they expire and they dry up and end up with holes in them and then your 25 cent insurance policy is null and void!
