the same way humans evolved from monkeys, but there are still monkeys around!

The New Testament did not evolve from the Old Testament. They are two separate books about two different covenants with God, but which are connected by their very concept. "The New Testament is in the Old Testament contained, and the Old Testament is in the New Testament explained." In other words, the message of the New Testament can be found in the Old Testament, and the laws and rituals of the Old Testament are completely explained in the New Testament.

The Old Testament is the word of God and details this world's creation and, more significantly, man's struggle of reconciliation with God... It details the story of God's Chosen people - the Jews - and has much wisdom, history, songs, poetry, and other things of interest to many as well...
It's not a question of evolution... The Old points to the New...
Jesus, during His life here fulfilled more than 300 Old Testament prophesies... At the Last Supper, He brought into being the New Covenant ("testament" means "covenant") detailing that He would offer Himself (like Isaac from the Old Testament) as a satisfactory sacrifice to God, rise from the dead, and that by believing and following Him (Jesus), He would lead us (believers) to the Promised Land (like Moses). However, the Promised Land mentioned here is not of THIS world...
There will be "...a new heaven and a new earth..." and "...God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.’ ”
- Revelation 21:1, 4

Uh....no the New Testament did not evolve from the Old Testament. The New Testament is based on the New Covenant through Jesus.
The Old Testament still has much valuable Wisdom and provides the prophecies that were fulfilled by Jesus.

the old tetament is still valid for both Christians and Jews, the old testament gives a history of the world and israel, ans shows how mankind was judged by God earlier. the old testament holds the laws of god his statues and rules and words of the prophets, and valuable information on health factors and spitual and family matters and even on business and government, the ten commandments and the other laws and statues are given as a guidelinefor society and things Jesus came to also fulfill the laws ie show it is suppose to be done and added to it, he didn't destroy the laws and invalidate them he clarified them and because noone could them the right way he gave his life on the cross so we could be with him but you have to accept his sacrifice first. you can't benefit from a gift unless you receive it first.

1) It's history (with a theological perspective), and history doesn't go away.
2) There are still people who only believe the old, not the new.
3) The old is the foundation for the new. To remove a new buildings old foundation would collapse the building.

Who told NT evolved from OT?
OT is a shadow of the coming Christ which is in NT
all of OT are plans and works of God to bring Christ to the world
which is fullfilled in NT.
In simple OT has the promises and and in NT you have them fulfilled. If there was no OT and just NT was given to us, it would be like watching The Lord of ring( the return of king). u'll never understand what is going on.
