One Christian said to me that their God and Allah have the same principles, and even it's the same thing, but said in different languages. She said the thing that they disagree about is the prophet - Christians say it's Jesus, Muslims say it's Muhamed. Is this what is all about? The name of the prophet?

I don't believe in none of this gods or prophets, I am just interested to know.

Very good question, and I'm glad that you asked.

It does basically boil down to the beliefs of Jesus (saws) and Muhammad (saws). We Muslims DO believe in Jesus, and of his miraculous birth, and even the miracles he performed with God's will during his prophethood. However, and this is a huge deal to the Christians; we believe that he was only a Prophet and a simple man, not God, the son of God, or a part of God. We believe that God is One, there are none like Him, He does not beget, nor was He begotten. We also believe that Muhammad was the final prophet of God, and that he was mentioned in the Bible (not by name), however much like the Jews refuse to believe Jesus was a prophet, the Christians refuse to believe Muhammad was a Prophet.

No, Islam preaches strict monotheism and negates the concept of trinity etc.

Islam holds that Moses, Jesus and Mohammad and other prophets were sent to the mankind to deliver God's message i.e. to worship Him only and follow His orders.

Islam holds that the message of all previous prophets got corrupted in such a way that we cannot differentiate between the true message of God and those introduced by human elements thus a need for a new messenger.

Quran claims to be the final and exact word of God. Muslims hold it to be unaltered i.e. it is the same version in the same language that was revealed to Mohammad. So, the Quran is the final guidance to all mankind from God and it should be followed till the day of judgment

well, its a little more than that

for one thing, christians and muslims are not one unified group but many groups and each group has separate and possibly divisive beliefs

muslims in Iraq are killing each other right now over problems that originate in conceptual differences between Shi-ite kinds of islam and Suni kinds of islam

the actual real difference between islam and christianity is that muslims believe mohamed is The prophet and revealer for God, and christians believe that jesus IS God or at least the Son of God, depending again on the christian sect, and also that he is the savior and atoner for all humanity and that only by Him (jesus) and through him can anyone be saved in eternity

You may have spoke with someone but it was not a Christian. Any Christian saved and knowing the truth would not have told you that Muslims and Christians are the same.

Also you got the prophet thing wrong. Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet and did not die or resurect for our sins. The basis of christian truth is the death and ressurection of our Lord Jesus Christ! Muslims deny this and all other teachings such as spreding their word through violence and coersion show that their is NO COMPARISON PERIOD.

If you truly want to know if God exists and if in fact Jesus is God who came to earth to die for our sins and reconcile us back to himself.... ASK GOD! No man can prove the existance of God. Only God does that when one truly seeks him with all their heart, mind, and soul.

I wish you peace and an answer from God for your questions.
