absolutely, it is an essential for me. some of my most brilliant thinking and reading occurs on the toilet. it would be a waste not to share the moment with others.
if you're good, you can wipe and flush without their ever knowing it--just flush and run.
however, i would never talk on the phone in a public restroom. it's a totally different thing, the acoustics are a giveaway, and you can't control what noises will occur from others.
chau.

I've done this in my home bathroom however i just hate it when im on the bowl and the person does this long conversation and im actually done with my business. One time my mom called and she asked me where I was and I lied and told her i was in the kitchen cooking lol!

Doing it in a public bathroom is bad..because other people can hear your conversations.

DONT FLUSH! until after you hang up lol

Or you'll look like this...

Actually it's one of my favorite things to do to obnoxious telemarketers. While their going through their sales pitch or whatever it's great to just cut one lose and explain exactly to the telemarketer where you are and what your doing. Once the telema is adequately disgusted you can then ask they call you again to discuss it further and if they do (doubtful), make sure you get back in the john and let them know again what your doing. You'll soon find telemarketing calls will come to a screeching halt.

Well, I think it would be better on a home toilet. If you're in a stall in a public restroon chatting away on your phone, people might get a little freaked out...

Oh, and don't let them here you flush. That's kinda weird... ^_^

I think the proper answer is that it's rude. However, if you are peeing and talking to someone who would go to the bathroom with you, ie-spouse, best friend, mom--i say it's alright. I will not condone #2, but it's your life. Also, you know those heinous phone menus? I can't be on hold that long and not pee!

Why has this become so provasive over the last year or so? Is is me? Seems like I hear "bathroom noises" on a pretty regular basis.

I guess I don't care, just filter out the "noises"

Well, when I'm on the phone I let the person I'm talking too that I have to use the bathroom. I always tell them they can either listen to what I'm doing or do they want me to call them back.
