For the same reason that our fingers are colder than the rest of our body -- they are extremities. Dogs' ears have more surface area exposed to the air than any other part of their body.

Dogs ears are colder just like our ears as they don't get as much blood flow. Have you never noticed your ears being cold!!

Not as much blood flow and both the inside and outside of the ear are exposed to the outside tempature.

Yes, because they are extremities. After I let my dog in she will sit with me on the couch and I will hold her ears to warm them up. I will sometimes rub them softly as well, she loves it.

The skin is thinner there with less hair, I guess it also help to cool the blood, so they dont overheat, same as panting help this.

Because they are furthest away from their bums, which is where all of their heat is generated.

errrm because is where you loose alot heat from!!

Thats why they need earmuffs and bobble hats!
