So we all know that guys and girls go for looks, however, guys mostly admit it and women don't. They often say sense of humor or personality or something like that. I used to think they were just making that up, but now I'm thinking, maybe they actually believe that themselves. Like maybe a woman's brain works in a way where if they like an attractive guy, they actually REALLY THINK they are liking him for other reasons, like personality. Like when a goodlooking guy smiles at them they say he's being "friendly" and when an ugly guy smiles at them they say he is being "creepy". They associate different emotions with the physical appearance. True?

You're funny... and yet it probably has some truth. It's just like this: By me personally: I tend to find guys very unattractive but I like 'em as friends. Then suddenly you get to actually know the person and if he's a charmer and just right... I tend to think he's good-looking even though my initial feeling was: "What a bad-looking dude!" It's all about attitude. I mean really hot guys can be idiots and that makes them unattractive. But you do tend to go for looks... like in bars 'n stuff... but yeah...:D That's how I see it.

Maybe for some women. I like attractive men, but there are things about goodlooking guys that I don't like. For instance, a lot of them think that they're "god's gift". I know my worth, and regardless of how hot he is, I bow to no man. So I don't tend to be interested in guys with that attitude. I'd rather date an average guy with a great personality than a super-hot guy that's an a**hole. If there was a hot guy, AND he had a great personality, BONUS, but it's not all that common. Give me the "ugly, intelligent, charming, witty guy" over the "sexy, stupid, boorish, sexist guy" any day...

very true!!!!!

the last part anyway - about if a guy i think is unattractive approaches me i do say he's being creepy

but i guy i think is hot can do the same thing (or simalar thing - cos some guys really are creepy) and i wouldnt mind

the sticky part tho is - what do i percieve as attractive

i know me personally - i percieve a sense of humor as attractive!
a guy with brains - hot!!

so when a guy like this comes up to me, yes, i'd give him more of a chance than i would a guy who smokes for example - cos i see this as unattractive

looks play a part yes, but not a big one

think about it, when someones' personality clicks with yours, dont they just become more attrative

think of your freinds - you dont have any ugly friends do you, at least you dont think so, because you know them and you know they are not ugly people on the inside so therefore you dont see them as ugly on the outside

True?

a bit extreme.... I wouldn't say looks don't matter to me. I love a man with a nice looking smile, face and body.... but I've been turned on by "not so good looking" men who simply charmed me into submission... Now that I'm off the market and married to the most handsome guy on the planet I would say that looks equally matter to men and woman.

never really thought of it that way, but its possible....

Im a woman, and I admit looks are somewhat important!!!!

Physical attraction leads to other things and thats how you find out about a guys personality, etc....

But a good lookin guy with a lousy personality is not attractive (to me anyway).....

You sound like a young person who has little experience with women. Take a psychology class.

Interesting thought - you might want to take a psychology class though.
