NO there isn't anyone who is following Jesus and not going to chuch. Jesus commanded us in His Word "Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is." It wasn't a suggestion to go to church it was a commandment by Jesus.

Nothing in the Bible is wrong. That is just your interpitation of the subject. Does'nt your bible tell you to gather in Gods house to worship? How do you argue with that? Gods house is the Church. does'nt the Bible teach you, where two or more gather in my name, There am I also?. The Church is a sacred place to gather in fellowship with your fellow christians. Bible study is a wonderful thing. But you should find a church that you feel comfortable in , and worship amoung others. This way the Questions you have could be explained by others in a different way than you interprit them. God Bless.

It is very difficult to follow Jesus and not go to church.
We need the fellowship of believers to grow in Christ. I do realize that there are a lot of churches that are only there,it seems, to line their pockets or to try and get the glory that belongs to God.
You need to look for a church that believes in the Gospel message and practices it as best they can. Know that everyone makes mistakes but there are some who are not afraid to admit their mistakes and grow from them. If the preacher comes across in such a way that he makes you think he is sin free, run from such a man. Look for a man in the pulpit that admits he is a sinner, saved by grace and called by God to do His work.
The search may be long and at at times seem useless, but if you persevere you will find a group of folks you can worship, study and grow with.
The writer of Hebrews said to not forsake the assembling of yourselves together. Jesus did not work by himself but through the church. The letters that Paul wrote were to the churches and to be read and studied by the churches. Over and over again through the scriptures the word of God was spread by the churches and believers grew. In the church!
Without going into a lot of scripture let me say from personal experience that I have grown only when I was a member of the Lords' church. During the time, that I was not a member, I still read my bible and studied on my own but did not grow in grace and knowledge as fast nor as sure as I have being a member of the Lords' church.
So to you, I encourage you to begin your search. Maybe a different church each Sunday looking and listening and praying untill you find where God wants you to be. Once you find it God will reveal to you that your search is over and you will cry Eureka. (I have found it).
May God go with you on your journey.

Everyone has their believes and I respect them. I myself am like you read the bible and pray at home. I teach my child about God and teach him how to pray. Growing up I remember every Sunday morning we would go to church. It was so nice everyone was like family but as I started growing up little by little everything change. I remember 13 years ago it was ash Wednesday A lot of people showed up to church and the first thing the priest did was judge all of us. He said why is it that we all show up for Ash Wednesday but when it came for Sunday morning church no one shows up. My believes are they are no one to be judging us because they make mistakes like every human does. Also look at how many children have been getting molested or rape by a lot of priest... After that I have tried to go to church every once in a while but nothing changes. It's just sad that a lot of people use the name of God in vain.

I have had my fill of organized religion. My faith however is very important to me. As I sail I read the Bible or listen to christian music. I do enjoy getting together for prayer with other christians, or some fellowship on the docks. Worship is something I can do alone it's very personal... Jim

I agree completely, and boy do I get some odd looks. Everyone asks, "How can you doubt a holy man who receives his scriptures from GOD?" I just do not believe man is all knowing whether he be of the cloth or not. I research all religions too in order to better understand them and have more tolerance. I am firm in my beliefs though, I just think I am capable of reading and comprehending most of what I read. And if I do not understand it, I ask God to spell it out for me.

You have a good point BUT Matthew 21:13 And He said to them " It is written, "My house shall be called a house of prayer; But you are making it a robbers den." Church is meant for fellow believers to congregate, pray, and worship the Lord TOGETHER!!!

It also says not to forsake gathering togeather. I agree that some "churches" do get a bit dictitorial... but there are plenty out there where the study of God's word is by individuals who come to geather to share and compare and learn... all by the leading of The Holy Spirit... you just need to shop a bit... no one was meant by God to be alone in their search for understanding... yes, I know He is with you... but he did also give each different gifts...take advatage of the gifts God has given others to expand your knowledge of Him.
