I used to work for a water bottler let me tell you the real story. Most of your bottle water is the same as tap, nothing more nothing less, these are generally your generic no name brands. Spring water may or may not be treated and come from a spring, but that spring may be the same water that goes into a tap as long as the source is a spring.
I only buy water that has gone through a process called reverse osmosis. This is the best filtering system available. It takes out cysts and other microscopic bacteria that chlorine and carbon filters do not touch. They generally take out particles at the micron size. It doesnt matter if its tap, spring or not, reverse osmosis is about as pure drinking water as your going to get the only purer is distilled and that really doesnt taste that good to begin with.

I can see that you are very determined to get answers about the difference between bottled and tap water. After all you have asked this question three times. I do know that bottled water is purified. I will say tap water has a better taste. Bottled water tastes like after they purify it they add salt to it. The only way I can really stand the taste of bottled water is when it is freezing cold.

John Stossel Just wrote a book and in it he said they tested bottled water versus tap water. He said it's just a money making thing. I think if water sits in a bottle to long it would start to build bacteria. That is just my opinion. There are a couple of things good about it. It's handy to take when on an outing. It keeps some from drinking so many sweetened and caffeinated drinks. It still gets me that we are to the point of buying bottled water. I would have never "thunk" it would happen in my life time.

I saw the results of a study done on bottled water. They took samples of all different kinds of bottled water and analyzed them. The result was, 98% of all bottled water is nothing more than tap water.

I saw a bottled water company who actually filled 5 gallon jugs with tap water coming from in front of a supermarket.

I believe the guy who turned on the tap to fill bottles, then started selling them at a buck and a half each is a genius (rich, too).

no, it isn't hype
it is real water in a real bottle
at my house, we refill the bottles from the sink until we wear them out and then we buy new bottles of water (real water, real bottles)
water is water but minor impurities give water its taste and some people like one taste and some like another

whatever it is, i'm not drinking our tap water.. way too much ammonia in it.. our water turns fish into hermaphrodites!
you have to run it for 10 minutes to get the lead out so like no i'm buying bottled.. it tastes better and doesn't give me violent diarrhea.

Yes....someone has gotten so rich off it. I don't believe for a minute that the water actually comes form a "fresh spring." Yeah right!

all your questions seem to involve this :)
It really depends where you live. In some countries i found tap water to be better tasting and completely safe to drink. In other countries, tap water is bound to give you diarrhoea, nausea and infections. In other countries it is treated so heavily that although it is harmless to drink, the taste is quite "medicinal" or "chemical"
