Tumors can grow anywhere, but it could also be a goiter or an enlarged/infected gland.

Yes! You can get tumors anywhere on or in your body. A common growth, not really a tumor, on the neck, is a sebaceous cyst. It results from the blockage of a sweat gland or pore, which fills with fat and old cells and is usually benign, but should be removed so it can be biopsied to make sure it's not cancer.

However, there are many other tumors that can occur on the head and neck, some of which are malignant. One website that offers definitions of these is from the Mayo Clinic:

But you should see a doctor ASAP, if you have any kind of growth, wherever it is!

Sure you can. But only your doctor will know if it's a tumor or not. I once had a lymph node that was swollen on the back of my neck. Scared me to death until he told me I didn't have a tumor. Your thyroid is in your neck and the parathyroid as well. If you have a swelling in the front of the neck, get to the doctor fast.

"A tumor is a malignant cell growth so it can occur anywhere where there is cells... which of course if absolutely anywhere."

NOT! Tumors are not necessarily malignant. It is just a overdevelopment of cells in a particular area. That may be benign or malignant. Careful about the medical questions you ask online. Some people are stupid and only pretend to know what they are talking about.

You can and I have.
It was Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
My lymph nodes were swollen, but that was in addition to the tumor itself. It was wrapped around my neck. Doctors thought it was my thyroid at first.

Yes, but remember: not all tumors are cancerous and not all cancers are malignant, so see your doctor asap if you believe you have a growth on your neck.
