What are some bugs that sing or chirp in the fall, in Colorado or the west?

I need to know, for a fiction piece, what forest critters make noise at night in the fall in mountainous regions like Colorado. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Noisy, unpleasant ones. In the west, it seems they resemble the people in character. Or lack of it.
