When false religion is destroyed by the governments it says in Revelation how will they know the true religion and not destroy them also? Isn't this to be a selective war?

True religion has never been completely stamped out. There have always been truth-lovers throughout the centuries, some of whom paid with their lives for their faithfulness to Jehovah and his Word, the Bible. But as Jesus’ illustration of the wheat and the weeds shows, the symbolic wheat, or anointed sons of the Kingdom, would only be separated from the weeds, or sons of the wicked one, at “the conclusion of the system of things.” (Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43.)

All nations will shortly be examined by Christ so that he can “separate people one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.” (Matthew 25:31-33.) We can be confident that Christ will be righteous in judging who is worthy of survival. Jehovah has given him the wisdom, insight, and other necessary qualities “to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness.” (Acts 17:30, 31.) Let our conviction be like that of Abraham, who said: “It is unthinkable of you (Jehovah) that you are acting in this manner to put to death the righteous man with the wicked one so that it has to occur with the righteous man as it does with the wicked! It is unthinkable of you. Is the Judge of all the earth not going to do what is right?”—Genesis 18:25.

Zephaniah 2:3: “Seek Jehovah, all you meek ones of the earth, who have practiced His own judicial decision. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah’s anger.”

Romans 10:13: “Everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.”

Psalms 37:34: “Hope in Jehovah and keep his way, and he will exalt you to take possession of the earth. When the wicked ones are cut off, you will see it.”

John 3:16: “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.”

Revelation 7:9, 10, 14: “I saw, and, look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands. And they keep on crying with a loud voice, saying: ‘Salvation we owe to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb.’ . . . ‘These are the ones that come out of the great tribulation.’”

By the time babylon is fallen, there will be only it and Christianity left. Babylon will be the one world religion that is being discussed today. We are farther into revelation now than many people even know. We already have mark of the beast technology. One world money is being discussed and worked on. The un is coming closer to the loose knit group of countries that will follow the beast. The temple in Jerusalem is being brought together slowly. And there has been cloning research done to recreate the red calf used for sin sacrifice for the new altar that will be presented in the new temple, etc,Keep watch over the middle east.

Actually, the first glimpse we get of the Whore of Babylon in the Book of Revelation is at 2:12-17. Jesus describes a harlot named Jezebel who causes the faithful to commit fornication and immorality. You can read about the first Jezebel in 1 Kings, beginning at Chapter 16. She was a pagan who attempted to insinuate her beliefs into Judeaism; ultimately, she was destroyed. Many believe this church symbolises the rise of Romanism, which came to be known as the Catholic Church.

Revelation 17 further explains who and what the "Whore of Babylon" is.

Verse 1and 2: she is a harlot who has conducted business with the earth's leaders; she is spread all over the world;

Verse 6: she is drunk with the blood of saints and martyrs;

Verse 9: the woman sits on 7 mountains;

Verse 18: the woman is a symbol for a literal city that controls the earth's leaders. See also Rev. 18:10 and Zechariah 5:5-11 (Shinar was the Hebrew name for Babylon).

Many people believe the "harlot" is the Vatican, because it is a city that sits on 7 hills and misleads people into practicing idolatry and paganism.

Peace.

Because when babylon is spoke of in revelations the church and the faithful have already been raptured off to heaven. I think you may be misreading revelations as well the governments will be controled by the antichrist and the false prophet who is babylon

God and His angels will do the destroying and He knows which religion is true.

The term "Babylon" can mean the Roman Empire, or it can mean a church/state connection later on in the future.

Is Babylon really a false religion? I have seen a good case for it being America. Try googling that. In those days, no one will be safe--count on destruction.
