or "keep this personal"...But guess what...?....they did not! and they also misunderstood what i was saying and now have spread it around...What can i do to correct this mistake???

if you want it kept a secret, dont tell anyone........as for "misunderstanding" what you said........there was an experiment done in a class room. the teacher wispered "my dog chased the neighbors cat up a tree" to the first student. the student was then directed to wisper the same to the next who was to then wisper to the next and so on till the last student was to say what the teacher said. the last one stood and said "there were two dogs fighting and one bit the mail man who was talking about cats with the teacher" or something like that..........people change because they werent really listening or they like to embellish to make it sound better to impress thier audience. truth has nothing to do with anything when two people talk.

Tell the others. And add that you wanted to keep the information confidential but the first one you told was a gossip-monger and now he/she has stretched the truth. In that manner, you are saying that that person could not be trusted at all.

Well, the first thing u can do is to stop considering those ppl ur "friends" and, consequently, stop telling them bout ur secrets if they just couldn't keep them.
I don't think there were any misunderstandings, if I tell someone to keep this private or personal, that obviously mean that I don't want anyone else to know bout it.
To solve this thing, try to face those who came to know ur "secret" in roundabout ways, telling them the truth.

They understood what you meant, they just thought it was too good to keep. Hang out with a better group of people. This was not your friend.

tell the truth to others. Then quit expecting people to keep your sectrets. It's obviously not important enough for you to keep the secret yourself.

YOU CANT...PEOPLE ARE LIKE THAT...THEY HAVE TO PASS IT ON AND ITS LIKE THE STORY GAME ...TELL ONE PERSON A SECRET IN A LINE OF 10...BY THE TIME THE TENTH PERSON RELATES IT OUT LOUD ....IT DONLY FAINTLY RESEMBLES IT....
