The illegals revolt, Mexico declares war, and the UN issues sanctions on us. North Korea decides to take advantage of the situation, and nukes LA. In the resulting chaos, the illegals and Mexican troops slaughter millions of citizens. Out of all the Southwestern states, only Texas survives, where a few thousand cowboys hold out for a while.
President Bush finally says 'what the heck'; nukes Mexico into a glass Aztec tomb, dissolves the UN and founds another world alliance of American Allies, nukes N. Korea, abandons Iraq, and brings the troops home to crush the Mexicans not wiped out by nukes.
Unfortunately, this is all the excuse Russia, China, and Iran need to form their own world alliance, invade Taiwan, and get ready to slaughter Israel. In the ensuing world war, the US is almost completely destroyed, along with just about all of the other major world powers; and the Antichrist comes to power in Babylon. The tribulation and the end of the world follow shortly after.
Hey... you asked for the worst-case scenario!!!

Any unemployed citizen who wishes could get a job picking oranges today - as could any legal immigrant. The problem? We would have to pay them $6.50 an hour, plus benefits. The result? Oranges would be $10 a pound ... as would strawberries, cotton, garlic and anything else grown in the U.S.
The final result? All the produce farms in the US would go out of business because they wouldn't remain competitive - then what?
And Madvillian - your double standard is amazing. I'll bet you expect all signage to be in English when you travel as well ... with the rationale that those who want the tourist dollars should have the information at hand in YOUR language.

Who is going to pay to deport millions of people? Could cost a lot of money to do that.
No one will pick oranges. Do you really think that unemployed Americans will do that? Legal Immigrants hold doctorates and design buildings, they don't clean toilets or mow lawns.
Get some real facts...you are a fool.

The worse that will happen are that prices will go up because wages will go up when they have to pay to entice Americans to do the dirty work they used to exploit illegals to do. No, the worse thing that will happen is that the opposition political party will not stop harping on mean-spirited, heavy-handedness even though most of them have also said it was a problem (just as many also said Saddam was a problem until someone got around to do something about him).

The States' economy will fall. You can't dispose of millions of people worth in workforce like that, it's like taking a wheel of a car and expect it to ride just as smoothly. Plus, to be fair, they would have to deport all the people who came from Europe before the Mexicans, like the Irish, the English, the Italians, the Chinese, and all those people who went to the States from abroad, and return all the land to the Indians who lived there originally. So, it aint gonna happen.

War? Economic crisis? You raise up a good point with the whole fruit picking industry. Also, who would clean hotel rooms? The issues bring a lot of prejudice & racism into question but the truth is that it would a huge impact on this country.

Well since Mexico is god’s blind spot, nothing bad will happen, they broke the laws coming here we as a group should not feel bad for breaking up family’s… its like I go and rob a store then feel its inhumane to take me away from my family and send me to jail
And a side note, I get offended on the deepest level when I go to the store and the credit card machine asked me English or Spanish….

I DON'T want the illegals here, not because on any other reason than they ARE illegal and who knows WHY they are here. A mass deportation could only wind up getting Innocent people hurt. Cut off the benefits, the jobs and the shelter and they will go home willingly. I am all for slapping STIFF fines on employers who hire them. Then use the money from the fines to hire more boarder control personnel.

Illegals comprise 30% of US farm workers, roofers, landscapers and hotel staff. A mass effort to deport illegals would practically shut the USA down.
We didn't want them, but we did nothing to stop them. Now we can't live without them. Like it or not.
