Another 9 steps for you....
1.
Brainstorm. If properly carried out, brainstorming can help you not only come up with sacks full of new ideas, but can help you decide which is best. Click here for more information on brainstorming.
2.
Always carry a small notebook and a pen or pencil around with you. That way, if you are struck by an idea, you can quickly note it down. Upon rereading your notes, you may discover about 90% of your ideas are daft. Don't worry, that's normal. What's important are the 10% that are brilliant.
3.
If you're stuck for an idea, open a dictionary, randomly select a word and then try to formulate ideas incorporating this word. You'd be surprised how well this works. The concept is based on a simple but little known truth: freedom inhibits creativity. There are nothing like restrictions to get you thinking.
4.
Define your problem. Grab a sheet of paper, electronic notebook, computer or whatever you use to make notes, and define your problem in detail. You'll probably find ideas positively spewing out once you've done this.
5.
If you can't think, go for a walk. A change of atmosphere is good for you and gentle exercise helps shake up the brain cells.
6.
Don't watch TV. Experiments performed by the JPB Creative Laboratory show that watching TV causes your brain to slowly trickle out your ears and/or nose. It's not pretty, but it happens.
7.
Don't do drugs. People on drugs think they are creative. To everyone else, they seem like people on drugs.
8.
Read as much as you can about everything possible. Books exercise your brain, provide inspiration and fill you with information that allows you to make creative connections easily.
9.
Exercise your brain. Brains, like bodies, need exercise to keep fit. If you don't exercise your brain, it will get flabby and useless. Exercise your brain by reading a lot (see above), talking to clever people and disagreeing with people - arguing can be a terrific way to give your brain cells a workout. But note, arguing about politics or film directors is good for you; bickering over who should clean the dishes is not.

Creativity flows from imagination. Your imagination can be 'created' from diversity, art and the understanding of why something is artistic or gives you great passion. What I mean by this is you can have a person watch a powerful movie or read a deeply moving book but unless that person reflects on what it means or feels the emotions that spring from art, they will not feel the spark that feeds creativity. When you have this passion and freedom to 'create', you can close your eyes and open your mind and ideas appear in your mind's eye - the seed of creativity.

When it comes to being creative my husband and I are total opposites. When I start doing work I do a ton of creative things. I am the one who decorated the whole apartment, I make the birthday cards, work on the photo albums, fix things, do art work with my children, and I try really hard to teach my children how to be creative. I give them projects to do and they really enjoy it!
I ask my husband all the time, "Why is it you don't do things like this? You never get into anything, draw, paint, decorate, nothing." He always tells me that it is not him, and he just can't change the way he is. I told him that it is about imagination, everyone has one.
So I asked him what kind of creative thing has he always wanted to do and he said, "Well, a long time ago I always thought about writing a kids book and doing the drawing myself." I thought that was just great, and I started him in on idea's of what kind of kids books. What kind of topics he was interested in. Then before I knew it he had his sketch pad out one day and was just drawing. He works in car sales, so now when he sends out cards to customers I ask him if maybe he could draw up his own. Now we get together and make funny cards to send out to all of his customers. He draws some great pictures on the front and we make photo copies.

Creativity can be induced provided there is conducive environment. We can also stimulate creativity by setting a situation whereby the person can explore his multiple intelligence. Each individual is special has that innate creativity in them that need to be explored. Hence educator must be wise enough to discover this potential. The bottom line is just about stimulation.

If you follow what's in your heart, it doesn't matter what other people think. If you feel it's creative, it is. If everyone thought the same... wouldn't life be boring?
Just put it out there !

One of my highschool teachers inspired my creativity by asking me to write a 1000 word essay on the classroom doorknob. Ever since I've been a litterature nut.
