I got a cheap stiff bristled broom.. I sweep with the broom before vacuuming, as I have 5 huge hairy dogs and 1 small hairy dog in my home..the hair is picked up very well by the stiff broom..For hair on smaller areas, such as car seats and couch, the flat comb..3 for a dollar, from WalMart works great..It is a nubby flat comb, like an oval disc..with the finger hole...also called the G.I. comb.

if you have deep ground in dog hair - like i had when i had my two labs living inside with me - Then you will need to call a professional carpet cleaner to get the deep down stuff out that your vacuum cleaner is not picking up. I've also heard you can rent a professional carpet cleaning machines.

Also, once you have this done try to brush your pets daily to keep the fur to a minimum.

it type of sounds like short-haired cats are worse in that respect. My purely suggestion is to groom, groom, groom. Get kinds of grooming equipment like a shedding blade, flea comb, established comb, and so on. eliminate the source of the problem. Get a lint BRUSH. They artwork a lot extra appropriate than the rollers. make positive your position is satisfactorily humidified. keep your clothing and outerwear below conceal so stray hairs floating round gained't get on them.
