I have experienced this several times in my life. I'm in a room, totally alone, avoid of any major shifts of air pressure (windows and doors closed) yet I have felt the sensation of air whisping past my ears as if someone has walked by. I understand that you can feel people's locations, relative to your own, because of the nerves in your ear. It's like a sensor. But does this sensor play tricks on me at times? When it happens I look around like "who's there?"

I do believe in supernatural beings like angels and spirits (not ghosts) but I don't accept that you can feel them naturally unless they manifest themselves in the flesh like in an emergency. So what the heck is that?

Yes I have.
Many times.
Once I even felt something jump lightly onto my bed and go off. It was spooky and strange, and I still leave some light on somewhere before I go off to sleep, still squeeze my eyes shut when I watch a horror film, still look behind the door and under my bed before I go to sleep.

Saw this classification on a website, found it funny and scary at the same time.

* Crisis Apparitions -- These ghosts appear most often to their loved ones at a moment of great crisis or death. Typically, the ghosts appear only once to a special loved one who may be many miles away at the time of the accident.

* Doppelgangers -- Doppelgangers are ghostly doubles of living people. Often the doppelganger is not visible to the person himself, and will simply follow the person around. In some cases a person will come upon his own doppelganger who is typically engaged in some future activity. Doppelgangers are traditionally considered omens of bad luck or even death.

* Repeated Actions -- Many apparitions are always viewed repeating the same motions or scenes. Many classic hauntings fall into this category. An example of this type of haunting is The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall, who was always seen moving down a hallway with a lantern in her hand. Usually these ghosts pay little or no attention to the observer.

* Poltergeists -- Poltergeists are the only spirits who leave immediate physical traces. Poltergeists are best known for throwing things about and producing rapping sounds and other noises. In fact, the word "poltergeist" means "noisy ghost" in German. Poltergeists often occur where there are children on the brink of puberty, and often interact with people.

* Ghostly Sounds and Lights -- Sometimes a haunting will consist entirely of the sound of footsteps or ghostly music. There are also many legends of ghost lights, which are often said to be caused by someone's ghostly lantern or by a spectral motorcycle or train.

* Possessed Objects -- Sometimes inanimate objects are said to be cursed or possessed. A very famous example of a supposed cursed object is the Hope Diamond. Sometimes a particular piece of furniture will refuse to stay in place, even moving in front of the owner's eyes.

Yes, the weirdest things have been what I call my cat ghosts. I often feel like a cat is walking across my bed while I try to get to sleep. We don't have any inside cats anymore. The cats we have all stay outside always. But we have had a few inside cats over the years and a couple of them have died. So, I rather often experience that as well as seeing cats jump or run past out of the corner of my eye, when I know that no cat is in the house.
Totally true.

I know exactly what you are talking about. You get that sensation of warmth, and this buzzing sound in your ear like the TV is still on even though you turned off the cable box?

It's because you are definitely empathic, possibly even psychic, and sensitive to your environment. I beleive spirits are drawn to people like us, who are open receptors. They don't bother me anymore, and they are usually all benign. Just know without equivication that this is your plane, not theirs, and they cannot harm you. They can only attempt to contact you, and you do not have to respond.

Angels are usually twinkling lights and a heavy scent of flowers and fruit. Spirits are things you can sense. Some people really gifted can even see them. I have not since I was a kid.

This has happened to me. And spirits don't necessarily have to manifest in order for you to feel them. The one guy's answer was probably more logical, however.

Your brain is probably playing tricks on you. The sensors in your ear are autonomous, because involuntary reflexes are connected to them. This means that a "message" doesn't have to get to your brain before your body does what it is supposed to do. You instantly know that your falling and you catch yourself BEFORE the brain knows. If not, the millisecond it takes to send that message could cost us, dearly. Like when you reach to touch a hot stove, you pull your hand away before you burn yourself because your body "snatches" your hand back to prevent the burn. (Like "stupid! why would you touch that stove when you know it's hot! i'm pulling away so you don't burn me off." said the hand to the brain) Your reflexes reacted before you even realized what you had done.

But if your brain sends a message to your ear when nothing is there, our senses (in this case touch, not hearing) will make us believe that something is there when there isn't.

I'm long winded but I hope it makes sense.

Yes that has happened to me often. I do think it is a spirit of some sort. I have only once had this experience and got the distinct impression the spirit was evil. Usually they are friendly or sad.

It's all in your mind. They have performed studies where they stimulate certain areas of a subjects brain while they are blinfolded, or the room is dark. The person has an overwhelming sense of someone in the room when there is no one there.

It's part of our defense mechanism that's been in our brains for millions of years.

Thanks for my 9000 point.

well, perhaps there is still a spirit in your house. and they are trying to get noticed. or have you had anyone die that was close to you? they often make their pressence known so they can tell you they are ok. they dont have to take the form of flesh to be noticed.

Why limit spirit presence? They can and do come close when we are open to know they are there.
