If you can get an ocean front view in the Rainbow tower for 300 a night, by all means take it.
I have stay at the Hilton a number of times with groups. And have always enjoyed.
It is a wonderful place, unless there is a big convention staying there. Then it can be a bit overwhelming with a number of drunks hanging around the pools..

It must be worth the price. The HHV boasts a 75% and 95% occupaccy rate for the low and high seasons, respectively, for the rainbow tower alone. From one side of the tower you see Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach and the Pacific Ocean. On the other side of the tower, you can see the Pacific Ocean, the Hilton Lagoon, the Ala Moana Yacht Harbor and Ala Moana Beach.
My personal opinion; is the view worth all that much money?
Yup!
Sunrise or sunset on the balcony, lights twinkling below, tropical breeze, plumeria fragrance in the air, stars in the night sky, a glass of wine, beautiful wahine next to you... priceless...

I did, but it was about 20 years ago. I really couldn't give you an honest answer. Been too long.
