You have the chance to make a difference. You have the opportunity to find true happiness yourself, or to give that happiness to someone else.
Once you learn that life is about much more than money, and that through dedication and hard work you gain self respect and pride along with talent and skill, you'll appreciate life a little more.
Maybe through your hard work, life will be better for your kids. Maybe some skills you learn, you'll be able to pass on. Maybe you'll have the chance to help someone else acheive great things you could not.
Be grateful for the chance you've been given to make something of yourself.
Then, go make something of yourself...

There are some challenges that we as inhabitants of the earth have to accomplish. If you belive that this one life is all you have then it may be hard to see any acomplishments, but if you believe that the resurrection is for all then everyone has an oputunity to create life on earth that is more acceptable for all humanity. Each resurrection is the chance to create a better world.
Now the belief that this life is were we have to make it big, leaves the ones who has not made it yet, depressed and hopeless. If everyone believed in the teachings of Jesus, where he talked about the resurection, and meeting what you left behind, the judgment, in the terms that he ment it to be, the world will not take as long for heaven to be on Earth!

First: The world was here first, it does not owe you (or anyone else) anything. Mark Twain
It does not matter what you have it is what you do with what you have... The great thing about life is that you are the one that gives it purpose... you decide what your life is for and what you will do with it... Waste it, live it, love it, you decide.
The goal isn't to be happy or avoid suffering... if that is your goal you will be unhappy and you will suffer. How is a pearl formed (irritation for the oyster)? Tempered steel is better for many things than untempered steel (it has to be put under stress/fire to be something great). It has been proven time and time again, money does mean happiness or success. Money is a secondary motivator...it helps you get you want you want (food, clothing, shelter, items, events)... Religion and philosophy tires to define this... you decide.

Romans 5:3-5
More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us.

If you're just ranting, I totally understand. (I've said that too many times.) But if you seriously want an answer to that question, read the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible and you will find it.
